What an emotional chapter, who's cutting onions here 😭😭

Now that the flashback is done, it's hands down one the the best flashback in the story.

Seems like Kuma didn't know Luffy was Nika, but with Luffy's action was reminiscent of Nika (Liberating the people of Thriller Bark) which pushed Kuma to help Luffy and protecting the Sunny Go .

I'm glad Kuma at least got to see Bonney in Saboaby

Bonney seeing Kuma full memory and here finding out Luffy will be the savior I think it strengthen the chance of her joining the Strawhats

Kuma losing his memory bubble could mean Oda planning for his sendoff when they return to the present time

It was just explained that his memories were not pushed out of him. If the memories were the only copy, that line would have been reversed, but Oda made a point to tell us the originals are intact.

Not to say he will or won't die, but that both possibilities still exist.

I think she’ll only join them for a little while. As much as I want her to be part of the crew, I don’t thinks it’s permanent. The biggest reason I say this is because of the chapter we had where Luffy told the crew about his dream. I think that moment solidified those members as the “crew”. Those are going to be the ones to find the one piece with him. Because of the lead up to that moment, and moving into the final saga, it felt like Oda was saying this is it. I think she will travel with them for a bit and maybe her and VP will join the revolutionary army. Even if it is only as protection.

Best flashback in the story? Brother for me it is without doubt the best flashback in the story and the best flashback in all of manga/anime. This flashback has been gut punch after gut punch. Kuma has become our favourite character so quickly, so so inspirational.

(and I say that as a HUGE HxH fan who has read the phantom troupe flashback)
