Question ❓ How to know if I am growing Spiritually.

I was awakened 1 yr back due to some heart breaking painful experience and my awakening was a divine grace on me helped me immensely going through it.

Since then i have been meditating everyday, as if today i am meditating approximately for an hour every day. My perception towards life have changed- being true to myself is my priority. i am a Reiki Master Healer . Healing to me seem to be part of my soul purpose .

But since few weeks i am questioning if my spiritual growth has stalled ? How do I check that ? And what should i do to keep ascending? and there is kind of yearning for new experience too.

If any one can guide me 🙏

What are you getting out of ascending spiritually? It sounds like ego to me

I am not sure what exactly it is …just a sudden thought in my mind since few days…i read and hear about people talking to there guardian angels, spirit guides ,doing astral travels having out of body experiences….this give me doubts if i need to do something far more to have these kind of experiences. Although i do have other thought that everything happens at divine time and if i am suppose to have these experiences universe will lead me there itself.

no such things in meditation practice, they are all distractions.

Try r/spirituality

That is definitely striving, definitely ego.

I have practiced meditation for 10 years and teach it now, and none of that is required or relevant in most situations I work with, even though I do believe in those things and I have experienced some degree of them. They are irrelevant as my practice deepens and simplifies

Ironically, you can check your growth by how little you check.

Can you explain a little more

As you deepen your practice, you will transcend the insecurity and need to verify your progress. The anxiety and analyzing tones down

A student once asked a Zen master, “How will I know if I have made progress?” The master said, “You have made progress if that which used to make you mad now makes you laugh.”

This sounds quite counterproductive to want to make sure you're growing spirirtually. A bit of spiritual materialism there?

The guru is you

I recommend reading Be Here Now by Ram Dass. It gives unbeatable spiritual advice and touches on how you don’t need to find a guru

You're not growing spiritually, you can't.

You're already there, the most perfect life form, the best you can do is remove the rubble (ego identification) to see first-hand what you truly are, but that's not going to, it can't change.

maybe you can try in r/spirituality , this is a meditation subreddit that doesn't necessarily have to do with a spiritual practice.

That said, the rules to measure progress both in spirituality and meditation practice is by not having any rule to measure them.

You can kind of measure it by your reaction to life's mundane problems, but it's not exactly scientific, more anecdotal.

I spent 35 years meditating 2 hrs a day. The only real way to be sure you are making spiritual progress is by seeing if your law of attraction improves. eg You will attract more loving people and less nasty selfish people into your life. Your law of attraction provides opportunities to grow towards God and it is always positive even if it is profoundly uncomfortable and challenging. When we refuse to make use of the opportunities to grow in love that your LOA offers, the offers get stronger and less comfortable. If you are making real progress you will be more sensitive to the opportunities offered and making more use of them. So your LOA won't need to ramp up to break through your resistance. The human mind has the most incredible capacity for self deception. Most people want to believe themselves to be better, more spiritually evolved than they actually are. People tend to believe what they want to believe, often despite the evidence to the contrary. So observing your LOA is the most reliable way of knowing if you are really making progress. Everything that happens to us can be considered our law of attraction. If you look at everything that happens in your life as an opportunity to be a better person, you will not miss so many of the opportunities offered. Meditation is not an end in itself, you still need to cultivate the desire to be a better person and to see through and correct your erroneous beliefs (which everyone has).

I used to attract a lot of angry people to show me my own anger that I was in denial about. These days it happens a lot less. It shows me I am making progress with letting go of my own anger. First I had to let go of my belief that I didn't have a lot of anger. In reality, what I was was numb! These days I am a lot more open to feeling my real emotions without judging them. I let them flow freely rather than try to control them. All that has made a big difference to what happens in my life.

You will be kinder, more compassionate and less self centred... end of😎

Thank you for replying …but i have always been kinder, compassionate , and not self centered at all since i was kid. Rather one of my awakening lesson was to learn to create boundaries and respect my true self, at-least for now…probably gradually I will be able to reach to one soul consciousness

Good luck but don't search too far... Possibility of getting lost😁
