Sigi Kuruni - Mali music
I’m not from mail but I recently discovered Mali music from TikTok the song Sigi Kuruni. I had it on repeat the whole weak. It sounds so good! I’m not sure what the translation of it is but I really like the sound of the language and instrument. What language is this ?

on reading the translated lyrics, i believe the “little stool” message is said in irony. i.e. dont lay down and be the little stool when your husbands and in-laws abuse you

oumou sings in maninka kan mostly which is spoken around wassolon. wassolon in area settled by fulani 100s of years ago that straddles guinea and mali but is mostly in mali due to recent colonial borders. some ppl may say Bamanakan because it's mali, but my experience down there has been mostly the accent of Maninka which is prevalent in the NE region of guinea and southern mali.
i believe sigi kurni translates to little stool and the lyrics are advise and tales to a new bride who must take her place on the little stool at her husbands compound. little stools are all over compounds in africa often used by women doing domestic chores.
