I thought about my bf when he will be older he won’t love video games that much..but after I saw this I am convinced now he will always love them 😂

I’m a 40 year old woman and I still play video games. I remember playing Nintendo and Super Nintendo as a kid with my dad. It’s not something you outgrow. Games are always advancing so it gets better. I play video games with my son now.

To reinforce your point:

My mother is nearing 70 and plays her Switch everyday. She loves the Legend of Zelda games and easily has 2k hours between the two games. She's adorable about how she plays too.

One time when I came to visit she wanted to show me her horse collection in Breath of the Wild. When introducing her favorite she said, "And this one is named Best One because he's the best one"

You never grow out of video games.

34 here grew up with Super Nintendo and n64. Now playing the classics on Nintendo Switch with my son (8) and daughter (5). Love how it’s come full circle, will always love gaming until I’m gone.

High five fellow 40yo gamer gal! I've been in the mix since Atari - dad bought one for himself and bitty toddler me learned how to play Tetris and battleship on it

As a retired 62M with a PS5, I agree with you!

I'll be taking whatever the current console generation is with me to assisted living...

My grandfather is 77 and is a PC gamer. He is on his PC for a few hours a day, some days for much longer than that. He loves Diablo, war games, shooting games. He’s been like that since PCs existed and he loves it.

That reminds me of an old geezer in my wow guild 15 years ago. Beau, he had to have been in his 60s ez. Good dude.

Oh so there’s a few of them out there. Lovely and wholesome to hear.

I am 42. My wife got me a PS5 for Christmas this year as well. This man in this video and I had similar reactions. Never to old to enjoy video games.

I'm 38. When there is news about a new pokemon game I will immediate not just preorder but have takes on the starters that will reach levels near religious dogma.

Old guys are still just guys haha. Back in my WoW days, our guild leader was a retired pediatric neurosurgeon. He was in his 60s but loved MMORPGs. He helped me fill out my college applications.

I was addicted to video games, but no longer play. You still have a chance.

This is beautiful!

My husband is like this with practically every gift he receives, and it is so much fun. He will try on every sweatshirt, model each baseball cap, swap out his old slippers for the new ones he just opened, etc. He makes it seem like even the most mundane pair of socks is exactly what he wanted and will let you know exactly how/when he plans to wear them. And his delight is genuine and infectious. He's by far the most gracious and entertaining gift recipient I've ever met, and it's a very endearing trait!

That is so awesome!!! Looks like he couldn't believe it and checked to see if it was a gag gift or if he was dreaming! So sweet!!!

You say that but when my dad and i got our PS4 (we went halfsies) I didn't initially wanna buy gtaV because "it's a very aggressive game" and my dad was like ill buy it and you can play if you want to

I love that his family doesn't look down on him but supports his hobbies and interests ❤️🥰💖

For a moment he was a kid again

I'm 33 and the excitement and comfort of video games has not left me yet. I still get that same feeling playing Red Dead 2 today as I did playing Morrowind 20 years ago.

I really, really hope I'm still this excited and passionate about video games when I get to his age. It's genuinely beautiful to see any adult this excited about anything.

This will be me if I ever get that pony I've been asking for. Come on Santa, it's been 50 years!

u/willfrodo 16h ago

You're never too old to experience the joys of a 12 yr old

u/StillGaming12 14h ago

I’m pushing 50 and I asked for COD Black Ops 6 and Far Cry 6 for Xmas. Never too old for video games

Is that what it looks like. First time to see a dad get a great gift. Hopefully one day. But I have a typical u.s fam. Dad is last and what’s left over. I did get a gift this year so not that hurt. My coal bar of soap. 😔

1

u/kabanossi 15h ago

Now Daddy won't be seen or heard. He'll be very busy.

1

u/HumanAphrodite 15h ago

The happiness in his smile is priceless 😊💗

u/MolaMolaMania 15h ago

I hope the box was padded when he fell on it!

u/Cute_Fig_8850 15h ago

Seeing this, I regret that i can no longer experience this kind of joy.

1

u/Relevant_Oil_935 14h ago

I was so worried it was going to be clothes or something

1

u/General-Strength-564 14h ago

What a lovely video. I'd react the same way.

His wife probably got whatever 7-11 had for sale on the 23rd, if she was lucky.
