Central speedometer problems r56

Post image

I recently had to remove the shroud over the speedometer in my 2011 R56 to fix an issue with the aux port. While fitting the shroud I must have shaken the speedometer, because the needle dropped below zero. The speedometer still works, but I like it to be at zero. Does anybody know a fix for this?

I also noticed that the central speedometer is way of. When driving at 140 kp/h the speedometer reads in the neighbourhood of 160 kp/h. I have another R56 and it recently drove that one at 160 kp/h and the central speedometer read 165-170. Is this just something you’re lucky with or is there a fix?

Forst, parallax error, the instrument is in the centwr and you are reading it from the side. Second, all car speedos over correct about 5km/h as a standard so when it reads for example 130km/h your GPS speed should read below that, about 125-127 km/h depending on your winter tires as well. So the difference can add up especially with winter tires.

I know the speedo isn’t accurate in comparison with gps. But i’m comparing to the speedo in the tachometer. With two different cars I get different results. I would like to know whats causing that big difference with one car, but not the other.

The analog and digital won’t read the exact same values, vastly different kind of readout. Still your analog speedo is a little bit broken since the needle is fallen down below 0 so there is definitely something wrong with it.
