Nightlife Broadway Bar
Sadly, this bar will be closing at the end of the month.
20 years ago this place opened up and became a staple of the downtown bar scene over the years.
It was my go to spot for many years and the neon sign out front certainly became iconic.
I'll be there this weekend to say good bye and I hope some of you all can make it out there as well.
Goodbye Broadway Bar. You will be missed.

Noo. My 20s were spent alternating between Broadway Bar and the Conga Room :(

Our city government seems fine with letting Broadway, and Downtown in general, die a slow death.

Was going to post the same thing. Really eye opening the the city is letting Broadway die.
Eventually we'll look back on this era of the city's history and wonder what the hell were we thinking with voting in the current morons to the Council.

It's not the government. DTLA was in the middle of the 3rd wave of gentrification and then covid hit. If landlords allowed the old businesses to rent there it would come back.

It was already going downhill before Covid because of prop 47, de fact hard drug legalization, and legalized homeless camping. I know because I lived there at the time.

Not my type of place but I could always go there when looking for certain things.

I had a weekly Wednesday night DJ gig there for a year back in 2012/2013 and it was fuckin awesome. Great crowd, super awesome staff and totally on-the-ball management. Music sucked though

Was very active in the LA bar scene 10 years ago, but never made it to this place despite it being so popular. Looks like I missed out.

I haven't been in years but went often during my single years (if we weren't at Bar 107). I hope the Museum of Neon Art or another mindful custodian can take the sign!

Wow. Was one of the places I took people when they told me there was nothing in DTLA. To be fair, there wasn’t much back then but it is sad to see another place close that holds fond memories.
