For sure! First thing is pay attention to your email. 2 days prior to our event they sent a timeline of how the show would go. We had to arrive at 4:15 to line up for vip. (Show started at 8pm) After a 45 min wait or so we were lead into the venue and lined up at the stage.
No photos or videos are allowed during sound check. They will make it super clear to you.
The guys took the stage, made some small talk, and played 3 songs. Lots of casual fun energy.
After the 3 songs they put us all to one side of the room and brought us in groups of 10 or so to get a pic with the band. I got to put my arm around Keanu! Woohoo! They were down on the floor, not on stage above us like it said in the VIP info.
After pics we got shuffled back outside to give the band/crew time to setup the rest of the way. After about another hour we were lead back in again before general admission. Grabbed a few drinks and enjoyed the show.
The VIP exclusive item is a set of Dogstar dog tags and a lanyard. Pro Tip: immediately go to the merch table (well before general admission) we picked up a signed poster for 40 or 50 dollars. These were very limited so check early!
Im sure i forgot a few things but if you have any other questions, fire away!

I posted a reply. It shows up on desktop but not mobile for some reason.. hopefully it shows for you

Weird, I'm not seeing it on desktop either. If you can copy and paste into a DM, that'd be cool, but no worries if a pain in the butt. Was just curious for some first hand experience :)

Trying again. Let me know if this one is visible!

How did I not know that Keanu was in a band IRL?

u/TheBeeman Aug 17 '23
I've heard that a lot in response to my pics. They've not exactly been active for the past 20 or so years..

Curious about the VIP experience - I’m going in December! Were people respectful? Were you able to talk to the band and Keanu at all?

I did the VIP Experience in Denver and it was an absolute ripoff. Got to listen to 2 songs during sound check and then got lumped into groups of 10 people to take a photo with the band. Keanu was cool. If you're quick you can talk to him, but they are pretty quick to keep things moving along.

When do we get our professional picture??? I saw dogstar on August 15th and still no picture has been sent to my email. Did they mention anything about when that will be sent to you ??? Cuz they didn't say anything to us!!

Your VIP email says. I believe its 5 to 7 business days. I was checking like a madman. I believe it took 5 days for ours.
Double check your VIP email. There is a dropbox link for your photos.

Oh no! So they won’t allow any personal items in? Say if I was carrying a funko they’ll take it away??
2
u/The-Plot-In-Me Aug 21 '23
VIP sucked. No you don't get a personal experience with Keanu or even the band. They did not sign anything and they took in groups of ten for a group photo. So you don't even get a one on one photo with the band. The special gift was a necklace.

u/Agitated-Listen4004 Aug 21 '23
No way really? That’s so disappointing. Did they talk to anyone at all?

I’ve been curious about this since I’m doing VIP later in the tour and it sounds kinda… maybe not worth the $$$? How was the sound check experience?

I've gotten a few questions about VIP:

So they are not allowing personal items being signed? About how many pre-signed posters they have for sale? Does Keanu meet fans outside?
1
u/TheBeeman Aug 30 '23
No outside items allowed in for signing. I didnt ask how many they had she just got me one from under the counter. We didnt stay after the show to see if they came out to mingle, we had to get home. Babysitter...

u/Competitive-Big5220 Aug 30 '23
Do they allow non-professional cameras in? I've seen some people post solo pics with the band, and they said they got to talk to them a minute and shake their hands. Sounds like some are having different experiences?

Just did the experience. You get a star shaped vip tag and the special merch is a dog tag necklace that is not that fancy. They disallowed cell phones during the sound check but it was pretty cool only like 40 vip tickets. They did pictures in groups of 10 and the guys stood directly behind you. You could talk small talk w the band and I shook Keanu’s hand. Now we’re outside while they finish setup for the opening band and after an hour we go back in for early admission. The merch has about 5 t shirts $40 each and I saw some water bottles. Our Venue is small so it will be cool to see.

Did they have an opening band?

Archer Oh. A few 20 year olds with expensive guitars and can’t play them.

Would you mind dming me to let me know where you bought the VIP experience? I am desperately trying to get one for San Francisco in December and there's nothing on their official website

u/TheBeeman Aug 30 '23
I followed the link from their website. It was ticketweb. The VIP tickets for phoenix sold out very fast.

u/seashell_eyes_ Aug 30 '23
Aw damn. Guess I'll have to try the waitlist. Thanks for answering!

u/TheBeeman Aug 30 '23
If you can manage the vip definitely get it. The photo and the soundcheck are great moments and the only chance youd have to get anything in edgewise.

u/seashell_eyes_ Aug 30 '23
Yeah i have floor seats which is pretty cool as it is but I figured if I got a chance to even be near my all time favorite actor, why not go for it. Hopefully something turns up 🤞

What are the changes of meeting him outside the venue while he’s out there chilling?
1
u/TheBeeman Oct 01 '23
Depending on the venue they might come out after the show for drinks. I've seen short clips online of the band doing that at some of the really small places.

Seeing the in Nashville next week. We bought the soundcheck VIP but they added a "thats how the story ends" VIP package which includes a ton of stuff an autograph and personalized photo with the band, damn even a champagne toast before the show starts. My wife is seeing if we can upgrade to that one. But if the band actually gets down with the group photo thatll be okay. I just wanna talk cowboy bebop with Keanu, since i heard hes a fan of the series and tell him hes the only person who shouldve ever played Spike Spiegel
1
u/TheBeeman Dec 16 '23
Holy shit. I would totally upgrade if you can! If not you'll maybe have a chance to blurt something out at him. Wife and I each had a quick chance to say something to him
