Prompts and Lists 1000 Prompts
Over the years, as I have worked on my journals, I have collected prompts to inspire me when I'm feeling indecisive about what to write/draw. I finally took all the prompts and put them into a single list instead of a multitude of separate documents. Here is this list. Please note that these prompts were gathered from everywhere...the internet, from books, and from friends, so the topics are varied. I tried to keep prompts that were not repetitive, but with 1000 of them, I may have slipped once or twice.
Enjoy!

Thank you so much. I've always struggled with journaling because sometimes I don't want to write about my day. As obvious as it seems now I never considered prompting.

Awesome. I just started journaling today. After two short pages i know this is going to be something i continue, but immediately knew it wont always be about my day of feelings. This is perfect, thank you!

You are so welcome! That's exactly what it's meant for...days you want to write, but not necessarily a recap of your day.

I have been searching for good prompts for my journal! Thank you! This is awesome! I added it to my home page as a widget from Google doc to access it easily when I journal.

What a wonderful find! I started a prompted journaling project on the units I supervise at a prison. This will keep them working for years to come! Thank you.

I apologize in advance for this shameless plug but I wanted to at least extend this idea to you. I run a free daily newsletter subscription where I said out a daily journal prompt for you to write to. All of the prompts are prefaced with a short conversation about the topic of the day which is inspired by my favorite books, podcast episodes, TED Talks or anything else I find interesting. My website is www.ameliorating-man.com
I have always loved writing and the idea of journaling always excites me but I found it hard to guide my writing freely everyday. I would also google "journal prompts" but everything was so generic and boring it left me very unmotivated. I also really enjoyed Ryan Holidays daily stoic journal but unfortunately you only have one year of content with his book. I would still recommend it though for sure. I mean I would like to think my site is worth at least checking out and please don't feel pressured to subscribe to the email list or anything, I just wanted to extend the offer.
Thanks for listening to me rant if you made it this far! 🤟🏻

WOW, thank you for this. This took a lot of doing. I've saved it for future reference so I can go back from time to time and answer some of those questions and put them in my journal.
I've been looking for a daily questions type of journal where they email you questions every day but have been unsuccessful. This helps tremendously.
Thahnk you.

This list is amazing. I found it by chance when looking up journaling tips for myself, but I have a volunteer activity for English language conversation. sometimes I run out of ideas for conversation. For my students managing a conversation that involves longer/more detailed descriptive ability this is awesome. No one word replies will do. So cool.
