2025 goals

One of my big journaling tasks each year is to make a list of goals for the upcoming year. I then use the list a year later to do an end-of-year review as well. It’s so fun! In the past I’ve always made about a dozen or so goals that I treat more like a menu than a task list (so there’s no expectation that I have to achieve each one). This year I want to try something different and make one big, overarching goal with 3 or so sub-points. Do you journal about your goals? How do you decide which goals are important to you? I’d love to hear what other people do!

I try to be as specific as possible. So I don’t make general goals. Like lose 20 pounds in a year. I will break that down in increments and then go even further and write down how I’m plan on doing it. I find detailed specificity is super important when setting goals. The other thing and this is not goal related and I’ve started writing down the little things like today I had lunch with my son and he wore the funniest tshirt and we talked about (fill in the blank). The point of this is when I’m older and want to look back that this will allow me to remember a specific day with details. And let’s be real at least for me I may not accomplish everything when I take a year and look, BUT you’ll also find there were things you accomplished that you didn’t write down and those are so great to see. Good luck with your 2025 goals!
