Celebration Free Palestine Menorah and Candles

I made this for Hanukkah 2024.

Hanukkah is all about resisting oppression and fighting for cultural survival. But in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, critics point out that Israel, which represents Jewish sovereignty, is now seen as the oppressor. Palestinians, the weaker side in the conflict, are viewed as fighting for their survival and land—similar to how the Maccabees fought back in the day.

If we were to be charitable and compare the Israelis to anything, it would be the later Chasmonaim rather than the Maccabees. Claiming to be traditionalists but eventually becoming Hellenized themselves; letting themselves be Roman (or in this case American) puppets. The Israelis didn't even have Jewish tradition like the Maccabees, they just...fucked it all up.
