heavy rain, it makes traffic even worse. closer to new year usually the worst, some area may experience flood
also be careful for strong windstorm, just this very night i saw gov contractor cleaning up a mess, turned out some pillars for direction board on the street were fallen. this is uncommon tho, and just found a shelter when it is happpening
always prepare umbrella or rain coat, and frequently check weather apps

Lots of rain. Avoid staying in Kemang as it may get flash flood every now and then in this weather

End of the year typically has plenty of heavy rains. So keep an umbrella or rain coat handy. Temperature in Jakarta is usually 25-32c. I’d usually do a tshirt and light trousers.
Traffic is usually bad at any time of the year and gets worse in the rain. This is often caused by motorcycle riders that aren’t prepared for the rain will park and wait for the rain under flyovers causing bottlenecks. If you’re near an MRT station, that’ll be your best method of transportation along with motorcycle taxis.
Face masks… maybe yes? Jakartans are kind of used to the pollution but those who just arrived in Jakarta sometimes experience breathing problems. But the frequent rain often means better air quality. I just checked nafas.id app and its mostly green (clean) in Jakarta right now
