WTF

Literally what I thought

How could someone even be moved to do this to another human being, let alone the your wife and mother of your child. I just don't get it. 3 lives (2 daughters) ruined forever and 1 flushed in the drain.

The ruling, which brought horrific new details about the murder to light, said the ongoing investigation has revealed “concrete indications of a mental illness” in the case, according to Swiss outlet BZ Basel.

indications of a mental illness

You don’t say…

9

u/MsMoreCowbell8 Sep 12 '24

I mean, what was their first clue? What could possibly have made the authorities realize that perhaps mental illness might have played a role?

42

u/Unexpected404Error Sep 12 '24

Because he was White. If he was an immigrant he would have been branded as a brutal savage.

4

u/driftxr3 Sep 12 '24

That part.

And the wording would leave no stones unturned. Here it seems as if he may or may not have had a mental disorder which they discovered later.

-1

u/MsjjssssS Sep 12 '24

What a load of bologna. Immigrants get the trauma and misunderstanding the local culture excuse in courts

8

u/thereign1987 Sep 12 '24

I mean sure it could be mental illness, but why are we acting like people haven't murdered their spouses in gruesome ways for perfectly sane, self centered reasons. I point this out for two reasons, first reason is let's not propagate this misinformation that people with mental illness are the perpetrators of gruesome crimes, and secondly it is kind of nice that they are following procedure and giving him the benefit of the doubt, wonder if they would do the same if he was a few shades darker and his name was Fahad.

u/isawasin Sep 12 '24 edited Sep 13 '24

If you keep reading, the extent to which he went to cover up the crime and the lies he continued to tell the police after being caught really dampen those claims. Obviously, this person is not normal, but he seems clearly to have always known what he was did was wrong. He murdered his wife and went to extremes to dispose of the body because he didn't want to get caught.

u/WinstonSEightyFour Sep 12 '24

Not defending this piece of shit, but you can be all kinds of crazy and still understand that when you kill someone the police will put you in prison for a long time.

u/[deleted] Sep 12 '24

if you’re competent enough to marry and reproduce then you’re competent enough to face execution

1

u/AbortedPhoetus Sep 13 '24

Marriage, maybe. But even flies know how to procreate.

u/[deleted] Sep 13 '24

I'm no expert, but I was going with the legal definition of insanity as I understand it. To be found legally not culpable due to insanity, I believe you have to able to prove that you were not in control enough of your actions that you weren't capable of distinguishing the legal ramifications of your actions, or indeed, even right from wrong.

If that happens, you don't end up in prison. You are institutionalised and treated until deemed no longer a threat to yourself or society.

u/MancombSeepgoodz Sep 13 '24

Alot of times people with a 'mental illness;' go to care facilities and never serve real jail time with the opportunity to get out in a few years. In many cases where they would have gotten life imprisonment had they been tried as a sane individual. "Mentally ill" people in general get lesser sentences in switzerland too of proven to be under mental disress while doing the murder. https://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/society/criminal-sentencing_why-switzerland-is-lenient-with-criminals/44655910

Being rich and white sure has its perks.

1

u/BrimstoneBeater Sep 15 '24

Legitimately crazy people often don't even have the inclination to deceive or evade capture. Typically, methodical behavior that is goal-oriented—especially evading capture—is indicative of a sane mind.

1

u/MancombSeepgoodz Sep 13 '24

which is why "mental illness" should not apply.e. This guy is sane enough to make all the decisions here.

1

u/marto17890 Sep 12 '24

What were the indications?

u/KhanTheGray Sep 12 '24

You are giving too much credit to a species that has Nazi death camps, Japanese human bio-testing chambers and English canon execution in its history. Did I mention we used to burn people at stake for collecting herbs from the forest to treat common cold? How about public beheading with public itself cheering every time guillotine landed?

56

u/Nothereforstuff123 Sep 12 '24

We're also the same species that sacrificed 27 million lives to stop that same Nazi terror, the same species capable of loving and caring for something beyond ourselves, the same species that can comfort our friends and family. I don't think it's either or.

He made his own decision to do that, not humanity.

31

u/anarchist_person1 Sep 12 '24

Real asf comment. The capacity for great love and altruism is important to acknowledge not just because of the hope that it brings but because it stops misanthropes from letting people off the hook

12

u/BlueberryBubblyBuzz Sep 12 '24

And of course an anarchist sees what humanity is capable of. Most bad human behavior comes from bad circumstances. Change those circumstances and you change the behavior. Now, because this seems to have arisen from mental illness, and you will always have that, there was probably not a lot that could have prevented what happened here, but most bad behavior can be changed by changing the environment from which it emerges. Human beings are actually pretty simple people. Once they feel safe about having Maslow's hierarchy of needs met, they will want to be productive and good members of society. When we have a very ill society based on some having a ton and most having barely anything (and I am talking the world here) you will create very ill people.

Thank you to the anonymous award giver, that was very kind of you <3

Duality of man, a beautiful and horrific thing

4

u/GoonieInc Sep 12 '24

It’s actually quite common for women to be harmed/killed by their romantic partners. Even though they can seem loving, caring or anything they on sole level believe they own you and can do wtv. Especially women who are high achieving, weekly articles of them being murdered for being talented.

2

u/ProxyAmourPropre Sep 12 '24

1 flushed in the drain

This is INSANE

24

u/Xzenor Sep 12 '24

The model’s husband and father of their two daughters admitted that he killed her in March, but said it was to protect himself after she had previously attacked him with a knife.

"I made her into a protein shake out of self defense!"

3

u/hyperfat Sep 12 '24

Lol. He's like a foot taller and probably 100 lbs heavier. Totally self defense. /s

2

u/Technical_Regular836 Sep 12 '24

I'm absolutely not defending his behavior whatsoever, but someone being bigger than another person doesn't mean they're not a physical threat. I'm not using this jackass as an example, but if someone comes at another person with a knife and they have to defend themselves in any way, they can very easily spin in it a way where they're the victim if they're toxic enough

I doubt thats the situation with this loser though, god damn

15

u/MsMoreCowbell8 Sep 12 '24

Depravity. Sociopathic depravity.

1

A bear is an animal that can't think outside of its programming. It does what its designed to do. Human men are capable of rational thought, empathy and know right from wrong. When they do evil, it's because they've calculated to do harm, knowing fully well the consequences.

2

Some comments say there was mental illness involved? Was she trying to leave him or something? What was she refusing?

4

u/DryRug Sep 12 '24

Apparently he had shown violent behaviours and lack of empathy etc before. Also there was no proof of any argument or fight at the time of the murder (March).

Because you are all a bunch of racist bigots.

1

I hear you. we should really be focusing on why he did it, not whether what he did was wrong. He wanted to humiliate her at that point, there must of been cheating going on.
