Being an ethnic minority person in Germany, not surprising at all. And I’m wondering as to the extent of the police investigations into the threats and bullets through his window.

Far right extremists in Germany are present in all layers of the society, including the army, the police and the judges. De-Nazification has failed with the purpose of countering communism.

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '24

Maybe they should have been countering Nazis?

112

u/Usernameoverloaded Jul 04 '24

They’re busy countering pro Palestinian anti genocide activists instead.

Historically the Nazis were stalwart supporters and financiers of Palestine and greater Arab world and retained a famously healthy relationship and collaboration. Palestine had a Nazi Party bankrolled by Hitler himself.

The right wing of Germany today is decidedly a kosher creation as Zionists prefer to redirect public outrage at their enemy instead of themselves.

https://encyclopedia.ushmm.org/content/en/film/hajj-amin-al-husayni-meets-hitler

In this German propaganda newsreel, the former Mufti of Jerusalem, Hajj Amin al-Husayni, an Arab nationalist and prominent Muslim religious leader, meets Hitler for the first time. During the meeting, held in in the Reich chancellery, Hitler declined to grant al-Husayni’s request for a public statement--or a secret but formal treaty--in which Germany would: 1) pledge not to occupy Arab land, 2) recognize Arab striving for independence, and 3) support the “removal” of the proposed Jewish homeland in Palestine. The Führer confirmed that the “struggle against a Jewish homeland in Palestine” would be part of the struggle against the Jews. Hitler stated that: he would “continue the struggle until the complete destruction of Jewish-Communist European empire”; and when the German army was in proximity to the Arab world, Germany would issue “an assurance to the Arab world” that “the hour of liberation was at hand.” It would then be al-Husayni’s “responsibility to unleash the Arab action that he has secretly prepared.” The Führer stated that Germany would not intervene in internal Arab matters and that the only German “goal at that time would be the annihilation of Jewry living in Arab space under the protection of British power.”

Typical hasbara talking points, it’s not even surprising anymore. You Zionists always bring up that one mufti but never the several Jewish groups that tried to align themselves with Hitler and the nazis so they could eradicate the “weak Jews”. It’s also kinda suspicious that your profile won’t even load on Reddit.

To be clear: I'm not defending what happend.

5

u/Joshistotle Jul 04 '24

Question- would you say the Germans are quite racist? I have a friend who is of South Asian appearance that moved to Germany several years ago. He stated he hasn't faced any noticeable level of racism (I was surprised at this, although he is natively from the US and speaks German fluently)

27

u/Usernameoverloaded Jul 04 '24

I’ve experienced overt racism and systemic racism which flies under the radar. Coming from London, I never imagined when I moved here 20 years ago that the difference in everyday life would be so vast.

12

u/HalfMoon_89 Jul 04 '24

Huh. I know someone of SA descent who moved there and they face constant racism, both casual and overt.

4

u/AloneCan9661 Jul 04 '24

I'm Indian and have known several Indians that have moved to Germany and they say they haven't faced racism either. But - I know East Asians that have moved to Germany and have faced racism especially during COVID.

It could have something to do with the possibility that Hindus tend to be extremely nationalist as well, so the Germans probably assumed you’re one of those.

2

u/HalfMoon_89 Jul 04 '24

Are you German-born? May I DM you with some questions about minority experience in Germany?

2

u/Usernameoverloaded Jul 04 '24

No I am not German born, Canada.

Hoping to do so after 20 years in a country that has always rejected me

Rule 1, be civil.

Civility

2

u/Teddy-Bear-55 Jul 08 '24

The polizei is busy ousting Yanis Varoufakis from Germany…

251

u/rumagin Jul 04 '24

I thought the Germans were awful due to their anti Palestinian racism and their support for genocide. I forgot for a second how anti black Germany is too.

u/PrunesAndDates Jul 04 '24

And they also still hate many other minorities, it's especially evident if you have an Arabic/Turkish name and send out applications for appartments or jobs. Suddenly, the appartment is no longer "available" but still listed on websites and if you contact them with a name that is German, French, Italian, Dutch, or another nationality from a "primarily white" country, they will immediately give you an appointment to look at the place.

I still get told my "German is really good for an immigrant" and I always reply "Well I hope so, I was born and raised here!". My grandparents and parents were immigrants, I just have a migrant background. My mom's generation arrived here when they were kids/teens so their German is impeccable, too, so why the hell would I as a Zillennial not be able to speak fluent German?

Most European countries are like this or were at least until recently. You should hear the way people speak about Romanians, Syrians, Albanians in the UK, even in a multicultural place like London. France is lurching to the far right because many people (wrongly) believe that immigration is the cause of their problems.

3

u/thepinkandthegrey Jul 05 '24

Yeah as bad as racism is in America (and getting even worse), I've always experienced much more practically overt racism in Europe than in the US. I guess it's cuz there was never a strong civil rights movement in Europe afaik, at least not one that focused on combating racism. Again tho, I wanna stress, this doesnt in any way mean things are hunky dory in the US wrt race. The cynic in me wants to say it's just that we're more advanced in our racism, and so do a better job of hiding it sometimes. Like even unabashed racists know to be politically correct in public.

6

u/HalfMoon_89 Jul 04 '24

That's disgusting.

32

u/idunno-- Jul 04 '24

The exact same thing here in Denmark. Also when it comes to job applications, where ethnic minorities with Muslim-sounding surnames have to send in almost twice as many applications as ethnic Danes despite possessing the same qualifications.

Also ethnic minorities, especially boys and men, have a much harder time being diagnosed with ADHD because it’s assumed that they’re just disruptive due to “culture.”

There’s so much other systemic racism at play too. Only recently we had a report by the institute for human rights that revealed how pervasive racial profiling by the police is, which of course made zero difference in the political sphere.

3

u/Dennisthefirst Jul 04 '24

Ireland too by all accounts

15

u/Ok-Communication4264 Jul 04 '24

Yet another irony about Germans is that, for all their Holocaust-remembrance posturing, they are actually very comfortable and satisfied with the Nazis’ “success” in eliminating Jews and other minorities from Germany.

Having eradicated whole communities for being different, Germans have no concept of how to accommodate difference in society. You see it everywhere, from their unwillingness to track discrimination to their bizarre infatuation with Native American stereotypes, from their extreme Islamophobia to their open hatred of Roma, from their indifference to the genocide of Palestinians to the casual anti-Jewish remarks they make at home and at work.

Germans will do all these things while complaining that racism is an American problem that need not be discussed in Germany.

u/ibby1kanobi Jul 04 '24

European populations are largely racist and very nationalistic so I’m not surprised at all.

The West claiming to be the beacon of civilization has always been hilarious to me. They literally built their nations prosperity on the exploitation, enslavement, and resource theft of other nations and then think they’re now better societies somehow due to that prosperity that they stole.

52

u/Teddy-Bear-55 Jul 04 '24

Two of the nations in Europe which pounded their chests about being THE most liberal, open, and friendly societies; Sweden and Holland were loved by all for their kind attitudes to the world at large. Until immigration started and Swedes and the Dutch were shown to be just as racist and small-minded as everyone else.

The only thing holding Europe from being as Imperialist as the US, is ability; money, economic clout, political force and militaries to back it up. Look at France, twisting things around, trying to maintain its neo-colonial power over old colonies in Africa. And this after two world wars (I consider it one with a long armistice in the middle) fought ostensibly over who would control the planet and its riches; wars which nearly destroyed Europe beyond rebuilding.

America was created on the mentality of white Europeans and seamlessly took over Europe's role as chief planetary imperialist.

Jesus Christ. Seriously? European countries and their asshole children (looking at Canada, US, Aus) are racist shit stains that genocided the indigenous people that lived on the lands they stole, enslaved people in one form or another, continue to oppress minorities.

If you only get your info from western media and euro white writers, of course you think we are great.

Europeans and their descendants have NO claim to being the most compassionate and if you think that I feel bad for you. We are responsible for the deaths of millions upon millions ACROSS THE ENTIRE GLOBE.

-2

u/HalfMoon_89 Jul 04 '24

Are you a white European? If so, may I DM you with some questions about racism in Europe?

22

u/Teddy-Bear-55 Jul 04 '24

Tell that to the Roma; or the immigrants which were firebombed. Europe has been getting by because it appeared less "nasty" than the US which always wears its true colours much more obviously and proudly than Europe. But the differences are small to non-existent. And not seeing "any other societies on earth that are more compassionate than European societies" is not necessarily a yardstick with which to measure absolutes.

I'm not fighting with you; I did for a long time suffer under the illusion of Europe being compassionate; or at least more so than the US. But look at the political developments in some of the countries which were truly social-democracies; Sweden, Holland and France: all now suffering goose-stepping, brownshirt, racist take-overs of their politics. Greece, Austria, Denmark, Germany... I'm sorry, but the current events don't bear your view out.

12

u/Alexanderspants Jul 04 '24

previously safe homogeneous countries are being made more dangerous and poorer

Can you imagine your previously safe country being more dangerous and poorer by someone else? I doubt these refugees will ever understand what Europeans have to go through. Also, please read a history book before you start pontificating about how safe Europe was when it was just white christian europeans.

5

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '24

I think, Iraqis, Syrians Libyans.. aka refugees can perfectly tell how it feels when your previously safe and relatively wealthy country is completely destroyed by someone else.

-37

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '24

Every nation has been built on exploitation and slavery. Democracies are better than authoritarian regimes if we are talking about currently though. Dictators are evil and oppress and enslave their own people.

21

u/ibby1kanobi Jul 04 '24

The beacon of democracy (America) is currently funding and arming a genocide. And on the home front the general population is being absolutely killed on their day to day living wage for the greed of corporations. It’s not better. Democracy just elected a large majority racist party in Germany and handed a U.S. president total immunity in contrary to its constitution. Democracies are no better than any other form of government, just different types of evil.

-8

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '24

Calling all democracies evil because of US is just insane. Authoritarian dictatorships are always 100% evil. Democracy isn't always great but it's by far the best

-24

u/Papa-Smoke Jul 04 '24

lol this is Reddit. An echo chamber

46

u/R3miel7 Jul 04 '24

It’s not super surprising Nazism emerged from Germany is all I’m saying

14

u/NoPrimary1049 Jul 04 '24

They're learned their lesson not to genocide fellow whites.

It's far more marketable and scale to go after then browns and blacks.

1

u/HalfMoon_89 Jul 04 '24

Be fair. Jews weren't considered white.

1

u/Shelala85 Jul 05 '24

The Nazis targeted a dozen or so groups with genocide including the French and Polish.

0

u/HalfMoon_89 Jul 05 '24

I know. 'White' meant something different to Nazis.

13

u/SpatulaFlip Jul 04 '24

Very on brand for Germany.

14

u/Fenton-227 Jul 04 '24

Some far-right claim they are just against Muslims and others trying to change the culture. But this shows that widespread racism against any non-white individual. Germany still hasn't learned not to be Nazis!

7

u/TastyArm1052 Jul 04 '24

I have no desire to even visit the homeland of Hitler and Nazism

8

u/dreckdub Jul 04 '24

Austria?

1

u/TastyArm1052 Jul 04 '24

You’re so clever😒

3

u/dreckdub Jul 04 '24

What for being right ?

6

u/ManGoonian Jul 04 '24

Was Nazisms homeland Germany or Austria tho? Hmmm.....

2

u/Agent---4--7 Jul 04 '24

Sounds about right from a country where you have to state a totally different country exists in order for you to obtain citizenship in Germany. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

u/CreatorOD Jul 05 '24

Even though Germany and the whole EU has some real issues with criminal refugees (like a cop that was killed not long ago in Mannheim) , this guy clearly did not deserve any of that.
