Omg. 550?!? That’s so sad!

combine that with the fact that it's 50 degrees in Saudi Arabia and the huge amount of people that are there at the same time, especially the first days of the adha it makes sense why there would be so much death
i heard that a lot are Egyptians but i am not sure

I have an Egyptian friend who took a couple months off of work to go home and visit. I just found out today that he hasn’t reported back and he was supposed to be back Saturday. I’m hoping that he didn’t attempt the pilgrimage unofficially and has just decided to remain in Egypt with his family.

Redditors trying to empathize with mass death be like
27
u/cbbuntz Jun 19 '24
I saw lots of comments calling them dumb for being religious and some comments even wishing for more death.
Oops. I didn't realize both categories are actually in here.

It's darwinism that 120+ degree heat kills people? Are you okay?
-23
u/mergiabeacome Jun 19 '24
No darwinism part is why and how they died.

I think they died from the insane levels of heat that basically cooked them alive.

How long do you think it’ll take humans to evolve Jack-rabbit ears to cope with global warming?
-20
u/_sheffey Jun 19 '24
Less time than it takes some people to realise standing outside in a crowd in a desert for prolonged periods isn’t a smart idea
-6
u/timbitfordsucks Jun 19 '24
Smart and religion don’t usually go hand in hand

-11
u/Puzzleleg Jun 19 '24
What does this mean?
Even after looking up what Jack Rabbits are I don't understand what this has to do with global warming, is this like a local joke that I can't understand because I don't live where they live or are you literally calling him donkey ears.
10
u/re-goddamn-loading Jun 19 '24
Jack rabbit ears are evolved to expel heat from the body quickly?
-10
u/Puzzleleg Jun 19 '24
That's also what I thought but I found nothing to back this up, that's why I asked.

Dying for no reason other then a man made fantasy.. I feel sorry for them all.

u/mkbilli Jun 19 '24
You say you're sorry but your first sentence is disrespectful to those who died so yeah totally useless comment there.

u/feraleuropean Jun 19 '24
But It's no different from being in the middle of climate disasters and going on about your economic development, need for buying and selling oil and gas, and pretending that the world won't be massively distabilized or that you live in a place that will still be inhabitable in 50 years. We all in the same fantastical boat here.
6
u/isekaimangalover Jun 19 '24
We will know after death whether it's a man made fantasy or not ,either way , you're not welcome here ,off you go
-3
u/_-BomBs-_ Jun 20 '24
Not welcome here? Unfortunately for you I live in a free part of the world, where all opinions matter, so I'm going no where. I hope your Gods save you from the man made climate disaster we are witnessing.
I'm guessing I'll be punished for my transgressions and you will be saved.
1
u/isekaimangalover Jun 20 '24
Morally you're not welcome , and just to explain to you , in Islam. ALLAH has predefined our moment of death , and dying while doing one of the most important acts of worship is one of the highest rewards since those people will get the highest if rewards in the hereafter . And last thing , it's not gods ,there is only one and it's ALLAH
1
u/_-BomBs-_ Jun 20 '24
What did people believe before ALLAH? He's kinda late to the game, don't you think. In a few thousand years from now, he will be mythology.
1
u/isekaimangalover Jun 20 '24
People have always worshipped ALLAH ,since the first human created ever , Adam , then all the prophets after him , Noah ,Abraham , Jacob , Jesus ,and then ,down to the last prophet ,Mohammed peace be upon him . The only mythology is the gods that man made without any proof . Unlike ALLAH who proved time and time again that he's the one true GOD .

I doubt the ancient Chinese or Aztec would agree with you. Heck I doubt the old Egyptians and Vikings or Greeks would agree with your statement.
It's crazy to me how anyone would believe this after learning about human history.
Some parts of all religions are actually good for humanity, but it's man made, and mostly used to control people.
1
u/isekaimangalover Jun 20 '24
Let's talk about it actually, how did it end up for the Egyptians ? Or the Vikings ? Or the Greeks ? All those man made religions disappeared and by pretty horrible ways mostly, only Islam persists since ancient times . You should actually learn more so you can see the truth ,and Islam isn't to control people , you're free to follow it if you want
1
u/_-BomBs-_ Jun 20 '24
Okay, so how do you explain the Jewish, Christians and Hindus and Buddhist.
No thanks, I think I'm good.
1
u/isekaimangalover Jun 20 '24
Jews and christians were Muslims before they started changing their religion to exclude what they saw as hard or bothersome and introduce what they wanted , being Muslim simply means submitting to one GOD that is ALLAH. Regardless of what it was called in their language at the time .
A quick Google search will show you Hindus and Buddhism were man made by various beliefs, only Islam as it is now was given by ALLAH and is being protected from being altered , old christians and Jews had fasting and praying but they removed it , Islam hasn't , a true religion should have no room for invention , it should be followed exactly as it was given by GOD. And it should make sense , islam makes complete sense

Yes let's believe that we evolved from nothing to an atom to an organism to fish to monkey to human. This is not man-made. This is facts.
21
u/LostMyBackupCodes Jun 19 '24
Not the original commenter and don’t hold their disrespectful views towards the deceased…
But no one said we evolved from monkeys to humans, instead that we have a common ancestor. Like, you aren’t descended from your cousin. And there’s enough fossil record proof along with the fact that you can observe evolution of shorter lifespan organisms like even viruses adapting year over year.

u/_-BomBs-_ Jun 20 '24
When did feeling sorry for the dead become disrespectful. You fucking privileged fucks need to get your head out of your assholes.
People die every day, and it's just entertainment for reddit and the so-called civilized world.
Religion is a way to control people, and at the moment, it's doing more harm than good.

u/Blackbearded10 Jun 19 '24
Is there? Could you provide me multiple evidence?
4
5
u/LostMyBackupCodes Jun 19 '24
Multiple evidence, seriously?
I did a quick google search “fossil proof of human evolution” that you can do for multiple results, but here’s a link that I haven’t fully read because I have work deadlines: Berkley article
You could also visit a natural history museum or look into why viruses keep evolving into something different and taking on different properties since that’s something observable within our lifespans instead of over millions of years.
-5
u/Blackbearded10 Jun 19 '24
I'm not talking about evolution. I'm talking specifically about the common ancestor part. If there are a lot of evidence, could you please provide me without resorting to a theory only.
3
u/LostMyBackupCodes Jun 19 '24
Amid these ambiguous developments, Darwin decided to say something about human origins. In 1871 he published The Descent of Man and Selection in Relation to Sex, in which he argued that all of the known evidence was consistent with humans having evolved from a common ancestor shared with apes.
So the guy that originated the theory said common ancestor, not descend from.
That’s debunking your first misconception.
Then just read the rest of the article or google “fossil record proof of human evolution” to see how the “theory” has been proven more factual in the years since he hypothesized it.
Or keep living with blindfolds. 🤷🏻♂️

u/Blackbearded10 Jun 19 '24
Here you have a list of PhD scientists saying that we need to be careful about his theory.
https://www.discovery.org/f/660
There are some facts indeed, but sharing a common ancestor with apes is not one of them.
You had a lot, could you please provide me some groundbreaking fact that we evolved from common ancestor shared with apes. Should be easy for you instead of quoting an outdated man.
2
u/LostMyBackupCodes Jun 19 '24
Man, this is tiring. I said I have lots of work deadlines not a lot of time to try to debunk intelligent design.
I’ve already directed you to google. Look at pictures of the evolution of humanoids. Go to a museum.
I’m not going to miss my work deadlines for you to keep throw some list of people signing off to a simple statement saying “we’re skeptical of Darwin” as proof that we didn’t evolve from some common proto-humanoid.

u/Shelala85 Jun 20 '24
without resorting to a theory only
This suggests you do not understand scientific language. From Wikipedia:
A scientific theory is an explanation of an aspect of the natural world and universe that can be (or a fortiori, that has been) repeatedly tested and corroborated in accordance with the scientific method, using accepted protocols of observation, measurement, and evaluation of results.
Bolding my own. This means that if evolution did not have ample evidence backing it up it would not be described as a theory.
Scientific theories explain why or how things happen and for human evolution it explains why we have the traits we have and why many of those traits are shared with other animals. You can checkout this video on Nested Hierarchies. I suggest this first because we were being taxonomically placed with great apes before Darwin presented his ideas of evolution.

Life is the only God we know exists. Unless anyone else can prove that Zeus, Odin. etc also lived in the sky's above us.
