The article doesn’t mention his actual release, only that a court has ordered it, so the title of your post is inaccurate

Most english language articles have sadly missed the news that the prosecution has appealed his release, he is not free just yet.
They also do not talk that even if he wins the appeal, he will face deportation. Now no one knows where he will go, but I'm certain Israel is readying bombs to kill this popular hero the moment he steps foot in Lebanon.
Bitter-sweet news all in all, albeit still a large victory for George Abdallah and the many comrades who struggled and continue to struggle for his freedom.

I’ve seen nothing about his actual release, only that the courts have approved plans for it, while a french prosecutor (somewhere I saw it being labeled as the french state) is going to appeal the decision
And Abdallah has had a court order annulled before, «He had been eligible to apply for parole since 1999 but all his previous applications had been turned down, except in 2013 when he was granted release on the condition he was expelled from France. - However, then-interior Minister Manuel Valls refused to carry out the order and Abdallah remained in jail.»
It does seem like this time is probably gonna be different, though, but we can’t spread complacency! Keep pressuring the french state to free Georges Abdallah, and continue the struggle for a free Palestine! ✊🇵🇸
