They’re pretty weird. I’d never let my kids run around naked and if my wife did that to me, I’ll probably be single after that. Sexuality in the Guyanese culture is usually really hidden and not spoken about but damn… home boy’s family is on the TOTAL opposite side of the spectrum

Kids running around naked is one thing, but the genitalia conversation was disgusting

To some, running around naked is fine. But today’s day and age I will absolutely not allow anyone else to see my child’s privates. Don’t care if it’s aunty, uncle, cousin, brother, sister. Too many sickos. They’re usually closer than you realize in relation. The conversation, drunk or not, about kids’ genitalia shows that it probably was generational thing that hasn’t been broken. That can’t be tolerated.

This is not a Guyanese thing. It’s a his family is weird thing. You should definitely have a conversation about the inappropriate behaviour and see if he can recognize that it’s wrong.

Talking about a child’s genitalia like that is not normal. If you have a child I wouldn’t have them alone with them, very creepy. Circumcision isn’t even common amongst Guyanese, it’s genital mutilation and boys are (or at least should) be taught how to clean and wash properly. Who is she even trying to make it “pretty” for?!
Domestic violence is still a common issue in the Guyana, especially among Indo-Guyanese for some reason, suicide as well, idk why but it’s there.
Communicate with your boyfriend about your issues, if he believes that your concerns aren’t valid then you need to evaluate your relationship and ask yourself if you truly want to be a part of his family in the future.

Domestic abuse & suicide is prevalent amongst the indoguyanese culture because of the alcohol abuse.

That's NOT normal in any culture, including Indo-Guyanese. I've been to many gatherings over the years, never seen or heard anything like it. Alcohol is a terrible thing. Those people have psychological issues and should be in therapy.

Sure it’s alil weird but they seem like poor country folk from back in the day. Harmless, but weird! Like people whom spent too much time together LOL. I wouldn’t stress too hard. Also, regardless of the forum, this is Reddit. Don’t take anyone’s advice. Majority you would never get advice from irl.
