Applying for a manufacturing position. Seeking advice.

I'm currently employed as a truck driver in Alabama. I've been a truck driver for about 5 years but prior to that I was a cell tower technician for about a year and before that, I was a machine operator and material handler for about 2.5 years. Before THAT, however, I worked at the Honda Manufacturing plant in Alabama for 4 years. They never offered me an application to transition from the staffing service to a full time Honda employee so I moved on. That said, I do have 4 years of automotive production experience and I'm hoping to land this related job that I applied for. I applied through multiple websites that have the job listing, using all of the same information and contact info, and I applied through their direct website. I also wrote up an in depth resumé, cover letter and reference list. I submitted these applications at the beginning of this month (December, 2024). There is an email for the recruiting team listed on one of their job listings. Should I email them and follow up? If so, when would be a good time? Should I do it now (December 26th, 2024) or wait until the first of the year? What should I include in the follow up email and what else do you recommend i do in order to improve my odds? Thanks in advance!
