Gassy 6month old - Kendamil help?

Hi all, my beautiful baby boy (6mo) was EBF until a few weeks ago, when I needed to start supplementing with some formula. I had some RTF enfamil neuropro (yellow container, not purple GE) on hand, so I gave him some of that over a couple of days. He didn’t get very much - maybe 4 oz over the day mixed with BM, but a few days later we were in urgent care for constipation. He was so miserable and seemed to hate the taste of the enfamil, so I started using Kendamil goat.

He much prefers this, and takes it happily. He’s still combo feeding, and probably gets 6-8oz per day of formula. But, I’ve noticed he has extremely forceful gas. He’s such a happy, happy baby that I would try to push through, but I notice him really straining (with what I suspect is gas) every day. He’s got a good poop each day, but his night sleep is suffering, and I suspect it’s gas pain. He’s waking every hour or so, and when I move him around at all, he generally passes gas.

I’ve tried gas drops, but they don’t seem to do much. I love the ingredients of Kendamil goat, but I’m wondering if it could be causing his gas, even with the relatively small amount he’s getting each day? Anyone experience this? If so, can you recommend some alternatives?

We don’t have a cow milk allergy - I just started with goat milk because it was supposed to be easier to digest and I was concerned about moving him over from BM.

Was he mostly nursed prior to this? My lo is so much gassier with bottles. Even the anti colic ones. I need to burp him for 5 minutes at least after every bottle feed, with burp breaks during the feed.

He was. Sadly, he’s decided he doesn’t have time to nurse unless he’s sleepy, so I’m pumping and doing bottles now. He always got at least one bottle per day, but he’s definitely drinking much more from bottles as of lately. We use the anti colic ones and burp him well, but his gas is just horrible and he’s so uncomfortable.

Kendamil ingredients are the same as any other formula. It’s really just what your baby likes and can tolerate.

As the other comment states, did baby take a bottle before, or EBF? The could be the root cause of gassiness. Too much air coming through the nipple. They can also get constipated and gassy when introducing new formula or foods.

I would just use Simethicone (gas drops) with each bottle, make sure there aren’t a ton of bubbles, and bicycle kicks. Also be sure to still burp after a feed to help

My baby was gassy on goat. I wanted to avoid any cow dairy for her though so I started her on food after 6 months and eliminated formula. Don’t downvote just sharing my life i don’t want advice or what your ped says.

Anyhow Try kendamil cow.
