American / Diner $30 Rudford's Christmas Day
Just a quick after action report from our Rudfords Christmas Day dinner:
The LOGISTICS
We arrived at 2:30pm and there was about 20 people waiting outside. We put our name on the list and it took us a little less than a half hour to be seated.
Six of us were seated at a booth; my wife and I, two daughters, two grandkids.
The FOOD
The adults ordered the turkey, ham and lamb xmas dinner. The kids got burgers off the kids menu. Personally , I got the turkey and it was ok. The dark meat was nice and juicy, the white meat was a little dry but good enough with gravy. Tried my daughter's lamb and it was really good. Tried my wife's ham and it was excellent. Each plate came with mashed potatoes and veggies. You could choose between sour or salad. I got the salad and it was fresh and had really good blue cheese dressing. After the dinner we had the option of apple or peach Betty. We all got the apple. It was good.
The FINANCES
The total for the whole thing for the six of us: $138
Each xmas dinner was about 25 dollars with tax.
The two kids menu burgers were 8 bucks each.
Sodas for the table were 23 for all six.
160 out the door with tip.

Been going once or twice a month or so this year. Sandwiches and burgers have been quite consistent. Salads are just ok. The daily breakfast deals are great if I get the urge to sit at the counter in the morning and drink 5 cups of coffee with my food. People watching is a solid 9/10.

I wish I had know. I truly enjoy Rudford’s. Feels a little pricy these days but so is everything else. I will keep going back for sure.

What a great and insightful review on the food and price point. Bonus points for leaving out Covid and politics. I’m glad you got to celebrate the holidays with good food.

They stayed open during the shut down and people lost their shit and kept posting online telling people to boycott them. Here we are almost 5 years later and people still always bring it up anytime they are mentioned
