Didn’t like the 812 at first but when you see it amongst here it looks so damn good
77
u/StroopwafelSpeelt 16h ago
The 812 is imo the best looking car here
19
u/eatingdonuts44 11h ago
F12s ass is still something special to me, that curve down to the middle is just godly paired with single circular rear lights. Too bad the tdf ruined that, but then again its perfect from the front.

I do love the sculpted bodywork of the 812. The 812s side profile design was inspired by the athletic body proportions of the cheetah/big cat, and it gives the car a more aerodynamic and a muscular look.
The 812 GTS = perfection. I know design can be subjective, but op, I doubt you could design a better looking car. To call the current Ferrari design language ugly is insane.
2
u/ExtremeAmbition5266 10h ago
The 296 is the best-looking car in the Ferrari lineup by far these days. I agree with the OP on his observation. I currently own 2 out of the 4 in the pic and have the last one on order. Albeit it in GTS form. I also still have the 296 GTS, among others, and feel like the current design language has lost something that Pininfarina had down to perfection! My 355 GTS and 458 GTS are both stunning to look at even today.
1
u/B-Sheppard 9h ago
That’s an amazing correction. The 458 is just tops for me.
2
u/ExtremeAmbition5266 7h ago
The 458 is just a pleasure to drive in any iteration. I've had every version, and they're all amazing. I just wish I hadn't sold my 458 Aperta, but at least I was able to acquire a final year 2015 Spider to keep in the collection.

u/Gadoguz994 15h ago
The f12 is by far the most beautiful one here, the full frontal and rear shots don't do it justice as it's sides are so cool looking
-15
u/EnderG60 12h ago
It is the only passable front engine v12 ferrari ever made. Every other one is meh at best.

The worst thing about them is they always get upvotes. Too much circlejerking
4
u/Normal-Information57 14h ago
Literally, have these people even seen Pininfarina's latest designs? It's very similar to Ferrari's current design language (but much worse IMO)
3
u/SubbansSlapShot Nero 458 Italia (2014) 13h ago
You are 100% right on that. They just don’t want to admit it. The problem is, these people are always hating. They never have been and never will be Ferrari buyers anyway (which in itself is not a problem) but continue to disparage everything new and go into posts which have nothing to do with Pininfarina designs and shit all over them (which is a problem).

u/chuffed_wheat 14h ago
The Battista looks like a Temu SF90 to me
0
u/Salt_n_skies 1h ago
All personal opinion of course, but I find the Battista to be the far nicer car, despite them looking quite similar. I’m just not a big fan of Ferrari’s (or every current manufacturers really) efforts of making the headlights as thin as possible

The 12 Cilindri is beautiful and has a great natural evolution from the other generations.

u/CommunicationLive708 16h ago edited 11h ago
Roma too. The F80 wasn’t meant to be beautiful and elegant. Or have a buttery smooth V12…It was meant to be fast, and showcase the latest tech.

I think the 12 Cilindri genuinely looks prettier than the 812. I dont think the 812 is ugly, but the 12 Cilindri just feels and looks more classy.

Yep, agree. The new Ferraris mostly just make the older ones that much more pretty and desirable. Styling is just goofy right now with most super cars. Who the hell is drawing this shit up? Some AI engine? Where are the new young designers with talent?
4
u/ImageRevolutionary43 15h ago
That would be Flavio Manzoni, and he has been with Ferrari since 2010. He had designed the LAF,F12 and he had created the current design language. Most of us could not do his job, and his designs had created a positive new direction for the brand. Not including the 599, but he has been in charge of designing three generations of the V8 and the V12 Ferraris.

u/chrisacip Lifelong Ferrari fanatic 13h ago
Pininfarina was involved in the F12 and 458 Speciale. LaF owes a lot to Pinin, too, but it was officially Manzoni's first fully independent project I think. Read up on him to understand more about the transition to Ferrari's full in-house design center. -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flavio_Manzoni
1
u/Patrick0714 15h ago
Promote him to the main designer lol, we need more Laf styling
1
u/ImageRevolutionary43 14h ago
He is the current design director. It is his job to supervise every design project from start to finish. And he also makes the executive decisions.

Ugly to whom? The ppl that can’t afford one?
13
u/Repulsive_Owl5410 16h ago
This is a stupid take. Just because a person can’t afford a particular car doesn’t mean they can’t have a valid opinion on its aesthetic.
I could afford any of the 4 and I also think the 12cilindri is an ugly car. For what it costs there are a dozen cars I’d rather have with my money, and being quite blunt, that goes for several recent models of Ferrari.
-17
u/Jazwel 16h ago
Congrats. Go buy them then. We’re talking about a car that’s flying off the shelves. I doubt the owners are crying to Reddit that the car is ugly. No need to flaunt that u can buy one, it’s corny and pretentious.
4
u/mingemuncher88 11h ago
The new models are butt ugly and everyone has noticed lmao
-3
u/Jazwel 11h ago
Once again , who is “ everyone “ cuz it clearly ain’t the ppl who own them.
2
u/mingemuncher88 11h ago
They made like 2000, so its not exactly some great feat to sell al of them. If you think its a handsome car good for you, i think its a shame ferrari has lost the plot design wise. Their new models are straight up not good looking, check the comments in this thread for more similar opinions.
-2
u/Jazwel 11h ago
Check the comments in this thread for similar opinions to mine. If u think it’s ugly .. good for u, highly doubt I’ll be seeing you in one anything soon.
2
u/mingemuncher88 11h ago
‘Yea i wont be seeing you in this overpriced butt ugly car’
Youre right about that pal!
2
u/Repulsive_Owl5410 10h ago
So just to be clear, it’s cool for you too keep telling people they are too poor to afford the cars…but if someone tells you that they can afford one, that’s pretentious.
Honestly dude, there are a lot of d*ckheads on reddit and you’re one of them.

u/Normal-Information57 16h ago
The newer designs actually look much nicer when you put them next to each other like this

u/Jacobwitg 15h ago
Love the simple design of the 599. Not over styled, but a more subtle gentlemen’s car.
1
u/TheCatLamp 14h ago
Ferrari design is pretty hit or miss now. I liked the 12 Cilindri, the SP3/P4 and the Roma.
I despise the SF90.

I don't like 12cilindri exhausts but it is NOT a bad looking car. In fact I think it is very cool that they tried to do something different. Astons and Mclarens are good looking and no one buys them + they are not distinguishable. I adore pininfarina but they also did the hiunday matrix. Exotics have to be daring, to take risks

I'm nothing if not nostalgic, and the 12Cilindri is awesome! I know some people might not like a 830hp modern Daytona, but I'm not one to make fun of people's mental handicaps.

My father had an F12 for a few years. Drove it plenty and its one of a few cars ive been lucky enough to drive that legit scared me. So fast. Must be respected. Loved it.

Things have been declining in the design department at Ferrari for years now. What a way to destroy a pedigree. None of these newer models will be in museums.

I'm weird. I think only the 812 and the 12C are eye catching. I feel like before the 812, the last truly stunning front engine V12 Ferrari was the 365 Daytona.

I’m not a big fan of the new Ferrari designs but I walked past tye Ferrari dealership in manhattan and was blown away. They are much better looking in person. Pictures do not do them justice. But yes, generally the Pininfarina designs are ones of beauty.

u/renosoner 1h ago
F12/458 , what a perfect combo. Making vehicles aggressive looking has killed a lot of designs.

No idea what you're talking about but I see two pretty and two ugly cars.
Pretty:
- F12 Berlinetta
- 12Cilindri
Ugly:
- 599 Fiorano
- 812 SuperUggo

Next to each you see how it went thanks for posting. I’m just grateful they make cars people love.
The stock is up about 100 bucks a share this year. Thanks everyone.
Love the down voting. It’s the truth. The day these are worth more than sticker is over. Stock is the way to go.
Btw the last car looks like an updated Ferrari Mondail.

Pininfarina designs always looked a little happy. New cars look grim and determined.
Personally, I like pop up lights and naca inlets to molded headlights and big hole intakes.

u/wilton2parkave 15h ago
Their newest designs will likely grow on us - but for now they almost seem ‘kit car’ like.

u/TheSkywriter 12h ago edited 12h ago
I still don’t get the hate for the 12Cilindri. Love it as a futuristic take on the beautiful 365 GTB Daytona. Sure it’s not straightforwardly pretty but it and all the sports GTs are good looking cars.
To add, I always saw the shapes of the F12 and 813 to be evolutionary from the 599, which is why I’m likely more impressed by the new car. Glad to see the 12Ci moving away from it.
0
u/dresina80 12h ago
I’d call it evolution.. keep In mind everyone has their opinion . Of course we’d love for our favorite style to stay forever , but if things don’t change over a long period of time, then we’ll say they are stagnant in their design approach . 🤷🏻♂️

u/NicolasGuesMySurname 12h ago
It's not ugly, I don't think people understand how much of a beast this car is engineering wise.
-1
u/VienneseDude 15h ago
I remember people hated on the 12 cilindri so much two weeks ago and now there are a bunch of people loving the car. Isn’t it weird what only two weeks can do lol
