Discussion How do i stop a race?

I'm sitting in the grid and i realize i still have an ICE with about 10 laps of life left. How do i cancel/back out of the race weekend so i can go change the engine? Is it too late since i already did qualifying with it? F1 2024

Pretty sure it’s too late. Or you change it and take a penalty

Once you go on track for qualifying your not allowed to make any changes to your car you can change on the grid but will take a penalty

That is wrong. It would have to be after quali but before the race. That will give you a grid penalty. Once the race starts its too late

Yeah once u hit the grid ur cooked. i lowkey just did the race and had my engine blow and got a dnf 😭

you can change the part up until FP3.

If its too late you will have to take the engine penalty or swap into a less worn ICE you already used if you got one since 10 laps is basically dead anyway.
