I’m surprised you managed to keep it on lol

Agreed, especially considering they locked up too

I think that's what saved me actually, the one time I'm glad to not be running ABS

Either way, good catch mate

Yeah that lock up caused just enough understeer to stop the oversteer. Just as you planned.

I believe that's a real thing drivers do to keep from spinning out. The rear tires having more traction than the front.

This is back when unrestricted DRS use was allowed right?

Yep. It was restricted from 2013 onwards.

Box and change underpants confirm. New underpants confirm.

You can keep DRS open you just went into that turn too heavy on the front. Make it a gradual turn in instead of sharp entry.

I mean, that was a good save though!

Which F1 is this? I kinda wanna play it, and for some reason it looks faster than regular

13

u/SpeedieSamantha98 3d ago

This is F1 2012, it is running at 60fps on PC so that could be why it looks faster than normal

2

u/the_doorstopper 2d ago

Well like, I run uncapped fps on 23/24 and it defo doesn't look this fast, and im running well over 120fps, max settings

Could be the FOV maybe? It's not adjustable on 2012 so maybe it's a high FOV making it have a better sense of speed.

This was made in 2012? It looks really good.

Honestly? From 2017 down the games went for realism and amazing graphics. After 2018 the graphics changed significantly to the style we have today

It is possible but you gotta be careful on entry. Very nice save though, only slightly over the white line too!

The physics look better here then in pretty much any of the last ones lol

I'd say generally they're pretty good, especially if you're on controller, although it does lean more towards the arcade side than pure sim

u/zonda747 2d ago

Mama aint raise no bitch. Go back around and take that MF flat with DRS open NOW

u/Fritzerbacon 2d ago

What a save πŸ—ΏπŸ’€

u/bigknight47 2d ago

It is possible, but you need to be very gentle with the steering. For me, it's about 50-50 of either making it or spinning out xD

Vettel actually did this IRL

1

u/TracyMcGrady0127 1d ago

Senna: Yes you can drift like that

1

u/Fishy-King 1d ago

In this version is actual pov easier

I know I’m gonna look stupid, but what is DRS? And while I’m at it, 130R? Thanks

3

u/SpeedieSamantha98 2d ago

DRS is drag reduction system, where the flap in the rear wing opens for better top speed. Now in F1 you can only use it in DRS detection zones but back in 2012 it could be used anywhere on track in practice and qualifying sessions.

130R is the name of the fast left corner at the end of this clip

1

u/huangcjz 2d ago

130R is the name of a corner at Suzuka Circuit.

u/zward0522 3d ago

130R isn't a DRS zone...am I crazy? I swear the only DRS zone at Suzuka is the start/finish straight.

u/SpeedieSamantha98 3d ago

This was back in 2012 when you could use the DRS anywhere on track during practice and qualifying

0

u/zward0522 3d ago

Kinda makes me want to go back and play 2010 just to try unlimited DRS.

DRS introduced 2011 season onwards.
