Don’t worry, they’ll have it f125 as a “new feature” and still charge the $70

125

u/VileGangster13 May 21 '24

I think you misspelled f136

38

u/nerf-me-ubi May 21 '24

Nah, you misspelled f163

37

u/thef1circus May 21 '24

Nah you misspelled f169

19

u/fameboygame May 21 '24

Nice.

I hope I’ll be around to play it!

UPDATE: greetings from the 2069… we’re still waiting on the update for Imola

4

u/-Old-Mark_Donald May 21 '24

That’s because the circuit got replaced with another street track you silly goose ☺️

2

u/SheepherderIcy1238 May 21 '24

"YOU DO NOT SAY BIG SILLY GOOSE, YOU CALL HIM AN ASSHOLE LIKE A NORMAL KID!"

0

u/-Old-Mark_Donald May 22 '24

Being a 💫very silly goose💫

7

u/WetLogPassage May 22 '24

Imola is on its way out of the calendar after 2025. They won't update it at all.

163

u/ScreamingFly May 21 '24

Weren't they put there like a couple of months ago?

185

u/dangerous_duck14 May 21 '24

Yea, but they will probably be added in F1 27 as a track update.

18

u/[deleted] May 21 '24

Bro that's bullshit. Spain was also updated in F1 23, same Goes for Jeddah

0

u/SilentTicket6830 May 22 '24

both shit

2

u/warzera May 22 '24

They were updated. What you said has no merit to this point.

1

u/[deleted] May 22 '24

iRacing is like 2010 version.

-20

u/dangerous_duck14 May 21 '24

Defending Shitmaster and EA?

19

u/[deleted] May 21 '24

Telling facts ain't defending 💀

Yes I know tracks like Abu Dhabi and the 2021 update of Spain wasn't there in the game.

But since F1 23, they have been updating it pretty good. Sure spa was still outdated as fuck.(And you have people defending iracings version of spa which is even more older)

For example losail. Got added last year and got fully rebuild to mimic irl. I also saw the grandstand in turn 1 of Suzuka being there in-game.

But most of the time they do change it, I'd expect them to update this soon. After all it's still a beta/trailer. And if not. Well fuck it then. We can still use runoff areas.

26

u/Additional_Hand_2288 May 21 '24

ea only seem to add new track features if they are added the season before

2

u/Kitchen-Animator May 21 '24

would it really be that difficult to add them? they should already have the assets.

2

u/RedditIsMyHomeTown May 21 '24

They'd have to train the AI and what not.

9

u/DKindynzdtr May 22 '24

Do the AI use the off track sections?

5

u/Ice_Crusherrino May 22 '24

They actually sort of do... just insanely stupid as of now

1

u/RedditIsMyHomeTown May 22 '24

Sorta, they're just dumb.

34

u/henkie316 May 21 '24

Hey OP. The english word you're looking for is 'source'. Bron is natuurlijk Nederlands :)

16

u/DoesAnyoneCare2999 May 21 '24

Nee, la source is in Spa, niet in Imola. /s

0

u/funkybass85 May 22 '24

They mean the source they obtained the info/screenshot from

191

u/itchyscales May 21 '24

I mean come on, I’m not a huge fan of codemasters but the gravel traps are brand new.

33

u/Sudden-Language-3418 May 21 '24

I mean there are 24 tracks. Every year. Most of them being around for decades. Is it too much to ask to revisit and do minor updates to all of them every new season?

106

u/YestrdaysJam May 21 '24

We learned about the revised gravel traps like 10 days ago. So yes, in this instance it’s an unreasonable ask.

u/JimmyThunderPenis May 21 '24

We weren't making a game officially sponsored by the governing body...

9

u/fire202 May 21 '24

Teams found out about the surface treatement in China on media day because the FIA didnt think it was relevant for them.

Different situation of course but comunications doesnt always go the way it should. I dont know when if at all codemasters were informed about the track changes but making and adjustment like this takes some time especially when you dont plan for it.

-11

u/JimmyThunderPenis May 21 '24

For any other developer, yes. For a developer/producer that just rehashes the same game every year, no.

10

u/shewy92 May 21 '24

We get it, you hate a game that hasn't even come out yet. Move on and accept they aren't all knowing and didn't predict track changes.

1

u/JimmyThunderPenis May 28 '24

Oh look. Not even a week later and there's already a thousand more issues with it.

Queue the collective surprise...

4

u/derp3339 Jeddah Merchant May 21 '24

The gravel traps have only been there since March/April, meaning there was probably not enough time to add them and/or get the data

2

u/Sudden-Language-3418 May 21 '24

I’m not fussing about this case particularly, but I bet it could be done easily if it was a priority. Some one off liveries are in the game usually the same time they get released.

2

u/Addyz_ May 21 '24

it is literally not released yet.

It is valid though because i doubt it will be done in time

1

u/jdontplayfield May 22 '24

Not an excuse. Assetto Mods are constantly reworked based on community feedback, video, lidar. Same COULD be done but isn't. Even if it took them a month and they came out and told us it would take a month, they'd never do this because there is no profit in it.

5

u/the_quiet_life May 22 '24

mods being the key word here

-1

u/jdontplayfield May 22 '24

Yes a modification to a game. How does that concept escape you? EA could make their own modifications(of course those are called patches or updates in house)

-47

u/TrueKazzeta_45 May 21 '24

It's not codemaster, most of it is now ea

34

u/AndiYTDE May 21 '24

No. The game is still made by Codemasters

-24

u/TrueKazzeta_45 May 21 '24

Well yes, but when codemasters made game by their own, F1 2020 was and still is banger

27

u/AndiYTDE May 21 '24

So we are just gonna forget the dangers to national security like F1 2015?

I swear to god, people forget that literally every F1 game had massive issues in some areas

13

u/JGlennie98 May 21 '24

But EA bad

-11

u/ChocolateLights May 21 '24 edited May 21 '24

F1 2015 has incredible graphics, but It didn't have carrer mode

3

u/CSIceman9 May 21 '24

I’ve seen Xbox 360 games with better graphics than f1 2015

5

u/Rambo496 May 21 '24

F1 2014, 2015 and 2009 were also made by Codies...

2

u/joJaspero May 21 '24

Hey man, F1 2009 was a banger! I used to play it on the wii haha

34

u/DrCarter33 May 21 '24

Where's the news? They already announced the updated tracks

92

u/RedditIsMyHomeTown May 21 '24

And that's surprising how? I mean come on there was 0 way they could do that in like 5 weeks

16

u/Am_I_Loss May 21 '24

5 weeks? You are giving them way too much credit the game was designed in 5 days max.

-10

u/Formulafan4life May 21 '24

These track changes have existed for about a year now

14

u/Tjazeku May 21 '24

No they didn't, the new gravel traps at Imola were added this year, not a year ago

2

u/shewy92 May 21 '24

Then why did we only learn about them last week?

1

u/Zolba May 22 '24

Someone doesn't watch WEC?
It's not like this happened last week. The new (or rather, reinstated) gravel traps were new for the 2024 season, not something they did for the F1 race.

11

u/Aym310 May 21 '24

bro said “ breaking “ 💀

26

u/Tom_Hanks_Tiramisu May 21 '24

We need to have a serious conversation in this sub about expectation management with a lot of you mfs

8

u/freerangehumans74 May 21 '24

I know right?

Wanna bitch about how it took them at least 2 years to update Spa? Absolutely. But this is absurd.

7

u/DanTheStripe May 21 '24

Good, because my racing line for that corner always sends me wide lol

5

u/dl064 May 21 '24

I mind the 2021 game never had the correct Abu Dhabi circuit.

4

u/EmployerDry6368 May 21 '24

So what? Stuff is missed every year, get over it.

5

u/BadlyWordedOpinions May 21 '24

Hope they got rid of all the sausage kerbs

4

u/Mr_Coa May 21 '24

Sort out Jeddah too that track has been ruined by those fat curbs

3

u/Civil_Excitement_747 May 21 '24

All I saw was Jeddah and fat curbs and I knew you meant the one from turn 8-9 that I go skating across all the time 😂

4

u/shewy92 May 21 '24

I mean, it was a recent change. No shit the series that only this year redid Spa doesn't have it.

5

u/formuIino May 21 '24

Holy shit who the fuck cares. You’ll barely notice it.

3

u/muralidharanstv May 21 '24

So fucking unplayable.

3

u/johnrobjohnrob May 21 '24

How could it? They finished making this map at least a year ago in sure.

3

u/Vixson18 May 21 '24

when did they actually add the new gravel traps? considering the ai need to be redone as some kerbs were made smaller, it would be a bit difficult. only learnt about a couple weeks before imola gp so no way they could scan it in a few weeks. at least it somewhat forces their hand for f1 25.

3

u/markymark2909 May 22 '24

Gravel traps were added sometime this year, probably around april time

2

u/Vixson18 May 22 '24

yeah two months at maximum is way too short of a time to get it all ready for the game

3

u/woodyshaze May 22 '24

BREAKING: you just got blocked

3

u/AnonGameDevGuy May 22 '24

Game dev here: racing games like these are not going to have their tracks messed with in any way at such a late stage of development.

We only found out about the gravel traps in April, with the game releasing at the end of May - the game will have been in it's testing phases by this point - the last month or two of development is crucial for the getting the game released as polished as possible (regardless of how polished you think these games are), they're not going to start changing track layouts and reimplementing AI a month before launch. Everything you change/add needs rigourously tested before launch, and a patch of gravel on one track will be much further down their priority list.

Depending on how many resources they've kept aside for future updates or whether the team is moving on to F1 25 ASAP, we may get the gravel traps in an update later, but as it's not that much of a game changer I imagine they'll just implement it for '25.

9

u/Takhar7 May 21 '24

To be fair, we just got the new traps in real life like 5 days ago, didn't we?

Pretty unfair to except that level of turnaround in a game.

2

u/Chesney1995 May 21 '24

The gravel traps were installed ahead of the WEC race at Imola in April

5

u/Takhar7 May 21 '24

So a month ago - my point stands.

0

u/Wonderful-Mango-8839 May 22 '24

They were confirmed for the F1 race like a week ago. Gravel can be moved and teams can probably vote for it. They had no time to implement it.

2

u/Zolba May 22 '24 edited May 22 '24

Gravel can be moved, but with the depth of a gravel trap, this isn't just something you put on top of asphalt that is at the same height as the track. No-one will remove asphalt to make gravel traps, then remove that to repave again. Not at least because a change of runoff will need a new homologation.
That F1 media didn't pick it up until the week leading up to the race is a different thing.

4

u/Darpa181 May 21 '24

Literally unplayable.

4

u/TicTac673 May 21 '24

Unplayable.

2

u/JoA2506 May 21 '24

This sub and its quest to moan about things… something only months old not being included.

2

u/TheRealLuke1337 May 21 '24

They took 2 years to update Spa, who would have guessed lol

1

u/Arado_Blitz S🅱️inalla May 21 '24

TBF they can fix it in a later patch if they want, think of Barcelona and the death kerb on the outside of the final turn, it was there in the beginning and it got removed in an update to reflect the real layout. I don't have much hope but there is a small chance they could change it. We didn't even know about the gravel traps until 2 weeks ago anyway.

1

u/Mr_Coa May 21 '24

How is that breaking it's obviously codies wouldn't add it at lauch

1

u/drumcorpse May 21 '24

literally unplayable

1

u/StRiKeRzZ924 May 21 '24

Boycott it

1

u/ShirocoTV May 21 '24

are you really surprised? :D the changes from china are also not in there. they finally got the spa changes in...they had all the data to change it since 21....but it's a big feature in 24

1

u/Double_Science6784 May 21 '24

I can forgive this because the gravel traps were probably being added while this game was somewhere near the end of development probably.

1

u/djdsf May 22 '24

We just found out like a week before the race. I'm sure they'll laser scan the track soon enough and add it soon enough.

1

u/Disastrous-Map-8574 May 22 '24

laser scan? that's asking too much for them, imola will have gravel traps in F1 2025, and still Austria kerbs and stripes on the track are still green and not blue, they clearly don't care.

1

u/DaveGlen May 22 '24

I stopped buying this stupid copy paste game after f1 2021 had the old version of Abu dhab.

1

u/RAiD_- May 22 '24

Yep don't buy this game

1

u/blacktrapano May 22 '24

Irl there is also a grandstand on the right of the gresini chicane. Never saw it in any F1 game.

1

u/AvfcWalpole7 May 22 '24

Well of course not.

1

u/Frosty_Outside_9900 May 22 '24

little poem:

EA giving a flying..

people still buying..

people still crying..

If i was EA i wouldnt change a single thing.

I dont do shit, copy pasterino everything. put my effort into a 1.30 minute trailer and i'm getting rich af lmao.

Why would you change or improve shit when people still buy the garbage anyway.

1

u/ThrCapTrade May 22 '24

Is the F1 series an arcade game? I play iRacing only

1

u/shalimar189 May 21 '24 edited May 21 '24

Codemasters: can't be bothered

2

u/Rambo496 May 21 '24

Codemasters: have bugs in their code. Meanwhile Bugbear: Masters of their Code.

Ironic

1

u/AncientStaff6602 May 21 '24

Meh. Not gonna bother anyway. F1 23 was a better drive but the overall experience was shit.

I’ll be sticking with ACC or GT7

0

u/popoflabbins May 22 '24

Why are you here?

1

u/AncientStaff6602 May 22 '24

because i have been playing f1 games since as 97?

0

u/Jordanmaxf1 May 21 '24

As expected

0

u/CypherRen May 22 '24

F1 25 main feature!

0

u/grocal May 22 '24

Typical reskin of the previous version. Zero surprise.

0

u/PrettyPoptart May 22 '24

Another reason to NOT BUY THIS GAME.

Everyone skip this year

-1

u/apacheotter May 21 '24

And it never will.

-1

u/Obvious_Practice2549 May 21 '24

No Michael no, this is so not right

-1

u/A_Timeless_Username May 21 '24

The traps are a 60USD DLC pal

-2

u/atony1400 May 21 '24

It took them how long to update Spa?

Expecting this change in F1 2030.

-27

u/[deleted] May 21 '24

[deleted]

4

u/AndiYTDE May 21 '24

Where did they say they updated every track?

-1

u/RenzoMoretti02 May 21 '24

In his dreams probably

2

u/freerangehumans74 May 21 '24

They never once said that.
