F4 2024 Ferrari FDA World Scouting Camp underway in Maranello
https://www.ferrari.com/en-EN/fda/articles/2024-world-scouting-camp-underway-in-maranello?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR0owZzwimFE4ETyAW-25AJf0NhfwPEFI-CNXLsG40qsPe-M6TiuOisA608_aem_v8zeRWyE6uKH0tA5kmhJ5gInteresting that the branding has been changed from “World Scouting Finals” to “World Scouting Camp”, likely to not obligate Ferrari to have to choose a winner/2025 FDA member at all if they don’t wish to, following the Lammers example from last year…
… also no “Telmex” branding on the official event banner in the press release photo, so not sure if Ferrari no longer doing any LatAm region recruitment for the camp, or whether no candidates this year were

The four 2024 participants:
• Ethan Jeff-Hall - UK, 16 y/o Recently made the headlines as the surprise winner of the karting world title in the OK class at the PF International circuit in England. He also won the 2023 RMC International Trophy and came second in the British Rotax Junior category. This year, he also made his car racing debut, winning the Ginetta Junior championship with six wins and 14 podiums.
• Iacopo Martinese - Italy, 14 y/o Won this year’s OK Junior class in the European championship at France’s Val d’Argenton circuit. He already got himself noticed two years ago, taking the Italian title in the Mini GR3 class.
• Thibaut Ramaekers - Belgium, 14 y/o In 2023 he won the IAME Karting Winter Cup and was a front runner in European races.
• Costa Toparis - Australia, 19 y/o The Australian 2022 champion in the KA2 class and this season he raced in the European Formula Regional championship, securing one podium finish, having made his car debut in Formula 4 two seasons ago. Toparis is clearly the most experienced of the quartet, having already taken part in the final part of Ferrari’s scouting programme in 2021.

I kind of predicted thibaut ramaekers to enter this, and I suppose Jeff Hall is racing in all of the series but gas gb4 to fall back upon. I'm assuming the winner will get a prema f4 seat, but will that apply to toparis as well, as he did drop back to f4 a couple weeks ago?

Was there ever a confirmed reason why Lammers didn't take the spot? I could only assume it was because MP gave him a better/more secure deal? Being part of a driver academy REALLY helps in the long run so idk why he would willingly give that up.
It'll be interesting to see how close the younger guys get to Toparis, considering he's the oldest and has single seater experience already. If they are able to beat his times, does that say more about their skill or Toparis'?

Say gang, was there any word on how this event ended up? I'm writing this on Nov. 27 and it seems that the event took place in late Oct, so I figured that this event had come to an end a long while back.
Was a decision ever made? :/

Almost seems a waste of time with Toparis, given his age compared to the others he's up against - Not to mention he's the same age as Bearman and older than Taponen.
I guess not all roads dont need to lead to F1 now though.
