ELIC: Why does it feel weird to swallow what you just puked in your mouth?

It's exactly the same phenomenon as déjà vu - already seen. In that case your brain is confused that it thinks something already happened.
In the same regard there is déjà mangé - already eaten, which happens when you swallow your vomit. It's just that this term is much less used.

It’s about mindset. A lot of the times it’s not really puke; maybe you ate that food without chewing enough the first time, and part of it comes back up so you can finish the job. Grazing animals have been doing this forever and they don’t feel bad.

Your digestive system didn't like things before; there's no reason to think this will change.

Well, as proud members of the animal kingdom, we have an instinctual drive to feed it to someone else, like a baby bird, and it always feels weird to go against nature.
