Meh, if they're qualified enough, they can command better salaries elsewhere. Indian tech workers aren't that helpless. And US isn't the only country. US becoming more welcome to skilled tech workers would also indirectly benefit tech workers elsewhere who could negotiate better deals with their current non-US employers with their US job offer.

Trump isn't concerned about being re-elected since it's his second term ... So that's a concern, as far as what Trump will do (he doesn't have to worry too much about alienating his supporters, because who cares at this stage ?).
So Trump could be willing to endure a lot of MAGA backlash against Musk.
Only thing that could make a difference is if he has aspirations for the Trumps to become a 'dynasty' - like the Kennedys for example. In that case, for the sake of his offspring he may be concerned about too much MAGA backlash in case it leaves a 'stink' on his kid's political aspirations.
At any rate, I would love to see all this blow up in Musk's face.
