Videos 4.4 Earthquake Los Angeles

Highland Park (Los Angeles) 4.4 sharp earthquake felt strongly throughout the metro Los Angeles area. Did y’all feel it? I am In Studio City and definitely was a sharp and strong shaker. Got the “My Shake” warning about 2 seconds before the quake hit.

I’m surprised it’s only a 4.4 I’m looking at camera angles of this earthquake. It seems like it was above a five.

This particular camera looks like it was hanging from something, because that looked way worse than what I felt, even considering I'm about 10 miles away.

However, the Cal Tech people said it woke up the lunch room so maybe it faded a bit more than I'm thinking it would have.

Yeah, they mentioned it during a call that was broadcast on the news. It wasn't Dr. Lucy, but another person who said it.

The quake was relatively shallow (not exceptionally) and it was directly beneath LA, as opposed to out in the desert or up in the hills. It was sharper, louder and harder than most they have felt primarily due to its close proximity to a heavy population. Most of the home videos you will see are coming from people right on top of it.

Imagine being the guy or gal who can say:

"Yeah, the epicenter was under my house."

Get yourself some earthquake putty and get all your lamps, your decorations, your wall stuff, stuck down. If (actually when) we get a big one, your items will be secured.
