If it was 1-2 ads in the middle of my favorite content creators videos I wouldn’t feel the need to get an ad blocker. It’s 3-4 ads every few minutes fucks sake I wanna watch my video, too.

Don't forget, YouTube is testing more than two unskippable ads, abd also puts ads on YouTube Premium sometimes!

It's not just that, advertisers can literally get away with showing PORN on YT, yet creators can't even play royalty-free music without risking copyright strikes, completely nuking their economy, and what they do get is almost not worth it.

And free robux scams. There is a reason the FBI likes Adblockers.

Creators are not entitled to their viewer’s money either

It’s not like a regular job where you provide a service and get paid in return for it. YouTube would be the one paying in this case, rather than the audience

I wouldn’t feel the need to use Adblock if it weren’t for:

  1. Porn ads on sites that aren’t supposed to allow porn to start with.

  2. Ads that lead you to malicious sites if you accidentally click them.

I wouldn’t mind the ads on YouTube if they were at least legitimate companies selling legitimate products, rather than the text to speech garbage about the new mouthwash suppository that somehow cures aids and cancer simultaneously

Hmm, idk about this one. It seems like cognitive dissonance. It's completely fine if you adblock, but it does directly take away money from the creator. There's no way around this. I feel like people are downvoting because they don't want to accept the fact that it is a form of "leeching." I'm not even against adblock, but I always see people trying to fabricate some lofty righteous stance against YouTube. We all have pirated things at some point or found a way around paying our "fair share." It's whatever, but you're definitely not noble. Just own it. At least the person in green sort of did.

Yeah, it's a dilemma... on one hand, yeah, the ads are a bit excessive, but on the other what can the creators do about that? At the end of the day we use services and find ways to circumvent the amount of ads. It comes down to the moral principle; it shouldn't be mandatory to watch ads, but it will be morally right to watch at least one of the ads in a video. By putting effort into videos, creators hope to get at least some money from the video, but they shouldn't expect people to watch EVERY ad, otherwise that'll be exploitation. I dunno.

The program was established in 2014 to economically support teens and young adults all across Namibia, Angola, and Botswana.
