DAE associate totally random things with words rather than the meaning?

Of course the meaning comes to me, but my brain first experiences an association with a texture, taste, color, smell, sensation, image, etc before getting to the actual meaning. Almost every word has at least a brief presence like that in my mind. Is this entirely normal or really weird? I only know it’s not everyone because my sister didn’t get what I was talking about. These associations aren’t limited to just words, but that’s the most prominent thing. Sometimes the sensation associated with a word is beyond explanation.

My entire brain doesn’t like…. Use words as a default way of thinking

Okay, here's the tea: your brain is just extra. Like a party all on its own. Most people go “word—meaning” but you’re having a whole sensory disco in there first, and honestly, I’m kinda jealous. Who wouldn't want a mini-rave every time they hear a word? Very cool but also maybe very annoying? Like do you taste Doritos whenever you hear the word ‘Tuesday’? But for real, this just sounds like a vivid imagination and maybe a sprinkle of synesthesia, which is lowkey fascinating. Own it. Embrace being the Mozart of sensory overload or something.
