Welf and Makoto see their respective gods in a romantic light. Season 2 turbo skipped most of the source material just to cover Apollo vs Hestia and some of Ares’s shenanigans so the most any anime watcher is going to get is implications of their deeper feeings

Welf’s Love Story. During Ares’s shenanigans, Welf learns Hephaestus was going to grant him a wish if he impresses her with something he makes but then he joins Hestia. He asks to date, told no because her eye is too ugly, he rizzes her by looking at it uncovered and said it was nothing. Now she can’t stop gushing about him and Welf ended up impressing her with the unbreakable magic sword he made in the dungeon. Btw Welf’s title, Ignis, is a reference to how he made her fall in love. sheepishly saids “it was ok” and wanted to start dating. Welf, on the other hand, thought she meant “oh my sweet loverboy, sooo soo close but not yet. Almost there though” and left to improve his craft much to her embarrassment. She wanted his “sword” right then in case you didn’t understand.

Makoto’s Love Story: She was a orphan and grew up to love Take, initially as a father figure before it became romantic. At the present day, she was thinking of how to celebrate a annual event of Take and baked a cake for him, only to get jealous when he unintentionally rizzes a bunch of girls and smashed his face with the cake. She then bakes a new one to apologize and was about to confess but Take revealed he had 2 short swords made. One he gave to her and kept the other for when she returns to his familia. She decides she will confess when she return and Naaza points out that the twin short swords thing was basically an engagement ring situation
