Plasterboard before windows

Post image

We are doing a full renovation including changing all of the windows. Some are changing sizes some are just being replaced. We have a 14 week wait for windows so is it ok to plasterboard internal walls when we will have big open holes to the outside? Will the weather/damp damage the boards? I won’t do any walls near the windows

We’ve just had our windows in, delay between the plastering and the windows was about 5 weeks, so the plasterer did the interior apart from the edges to the windows. We had osb boards up on the gaps, and no problems with the interior. As long as you board up the exterior I can’t see an issue.

I wouldn't. Plasterboard once damp loses integrity. Unless you can control the humidity and board over the open holes of the windows and doors, you'll be on a losing battle.

Why is there a 14 week wait?

Yaaaa it's windows fucking the job up again. It's always windows. In my next life I'm coming back as a window fitter who can use a tape measure, I'll make a killing.
