There a good place for large, new carpet remnants? Like to put them down as a runner in the garage and in our attic storage areas.

Carpet discount warehouse on independence. Have purchased several large remnants for binding as an area rug. Big selection

You could probably get some from various apartment communities. I would assume that that would have extra cuts leftover when they change the carpets after someone moves out.

You'd need to know someone that works there though. I have no true insider knowledge.

Does anyone know a metal worker that is good w/ 304 stainless steel? I recently acquired something I need to customize & am looking for someone who can engrave, weld, & coloring the metal. Bonus points if they can set stones in the metal.

I just found this recent Howard Stern interview with Bruce Springsteen from late this year. Damn it's cool, the comments are saying best Bruce interview ever and I can't argue. It's just Bruce and Howard for the first hour, then they bring in Max Jake Roy Patti Gary and the band and discuss songs and then play pieces of them from all over his career.

Him and Patti sitting next to each other harmonizing is lovely

Super entertaining video

I am currently visiting my mother. She keeps receiving calls about selling the house at my address. My mom was not involved at all in the purchase of my house. We don’t have the same last name. I have no idea why they would be calling her.

Has anyone else had their parents called about selling their house?

It’s random number generators. The algorithm calls any number that will answer, on several topics (Medicare Advantage plans, home sales, funeral expenses). They have mostly moved on from the car warranty bullshit, though occasionally I enjoy toying with them on that, with my 25-year-old car with 193,000 miles on it.

How do they know the address to my house?

A lot of that stuff is public record, and the AI figures out who is related to who. The only way I find to win is to not answer the phone, knowing that if it’s a real call, they will leave a message .

My mom couldn’t stand the same number calling her so she’s picking it up now and yelling at them. She still has a land line. She won’t listen to me so I will just let her yell. It’s kind of getting to the point that it’s comical.

Yeah, that’s the other way to win. Make it a game to keep them on the line as long as possible. Ask them stuff that isn’t in their script. Tell long stories.
