Discussion Welcome to Charlotte Wednesday! Visiting, recently moved here, or going to move here? Tell us and ask away!
As the title says, ask away so we can help! Where to live, where to go, what to see, where to eat. What you have experienced thus far (culture shock)? Or just to introduce yourself and where you are coming from.
NOTE: This thread is also for relocation questions from folks already living in the area.

Does anyone that sees this know of a room for let for a short amount of time, likely 6 months or less?
I'm homeless and my homeless situation is going to become even more pressing Xmas week. I'm disabled and on a fixed income and I'm currently going through the process of getting the assistance I need in finding and affording my own place but like all things government, it is extremely slow moving.
While I am technically homeless right now, the Monday before Xmas, all the support I currently have will no longer be available.
I'm desperate and I'm willing to take pretty much anything that has or stays warm enough to survive and has power. That's literally all I need to survive.
I have 800 a month and I could pay up to 600 if I need to, but this unfortunately not enough for an extended stay motel or any of the roommates wanted adds I've come across. The cheapest roommate add I've found wants 900 a month and all of them need at least one month deposit.
If you read this and respond with kindness and any helpful information, thank you so much for your kindness.
If you want to condem me for asking for help or make this post into something other than what it is, by all means, knock yourself out. This is reddit after all, it is expected.
I've been homeless off and on for years so I'm very familiar with most of the services our city and state offer, but I'm still happy to hear them again if that's all you have to offer me.
If you can think of a way to help me or know someone who might be open to helping me, pls, let me know here or message me or open a chat with me here on reddit.
I can't get into the details here, now, but the shelter isn't an option for me ATM.
I suspect being relagated to posting this here will result in absolutey no body seeing this so, whomp whomp to me.
At least I don't have to bother the haves with my havenotitus....

Does someone need a roommate for a couple months? I have a not-on-reddit friend relocating to Charlotte in December and he is looking for a cash roommate situation while he becomes familiar with the area. Late 30's male, professional. His family will follow and join him but not until February so really this would just be for December and January, probably. He is willing to pay up to $1000 with bills included but would prefer to keep it around $800. Feel free to comment or message if you know of someone or something that may work besides an extended stay hotel.

Hi everyone,
I'm relocating to Charlotte, NC as I got a professional job there. I'm looking for an apartment to rent in Charlotte. Could you please give me some advice on which apartment is the safest place to live? When I researched apartments, I found out Bridges at Mallard Creek Apartment Homes at 7916 Harris Hill Ln, Charlotte, NC 28269 offers the best price to live. Is it a safe place to live as a single female? Or any other places to rent? Thank you.

Has anyone. Replied? I saw that place but the Google reviews don't impress me as a SF and I don't mind the gun sounds every now and then but I do mind maintenance not being handled, car break-ins. And, apathetic management.

Looking for a decent place at $1k. Studio is fine but I require an in unit washer dryer hookup or actual laundry unit is fine. And, I require no car break-ins... apathetic management.
I left CLT October 2018 and prices were not this ridiculous. I'm back for work.

Do NOT! High taxes, major traffic, 99% democrat city council, just raised our property taxes again! Ridiculous amount of traffic, we can’t handle anymore people.

My husband and I are moving to Charlotte in April. I am quite in love with Strawberry Hill. But there are townhomes at Pinehurst at Providence in the same area, but MUCH cheaper. I've seen some comments about the buildings being old, and there being construction - also, rumors about the complex being demolished next spring? Does anyone have info on this?
Also, from my list of finalists - which are the best? We will be touring these next week. P.S. I want to be surrounded by trees, and areas to walk in with tree shade.
