so a company who does parking lots got "diluted tar" all over my car while i was parked in the parking lot of my gym. its a whole big deal right now that i wont get into specifics but basically theyre saying its my fault and that it can be cleaned at home. it is literally stuck to my car and will not come out. we are going to go to a manual carwash and if that doesnt work i dont know what i should do. the owner of the company who got the tar on my car said to use shout specifically the grease busting foam. i dont want to put something on my car thats going to damage it further. im attaching the video of my car so yall can see what im talking about. please help!!!!

Got home today and opened up my hood just cause I was bored and I noticed this guy crawl under my fuse box. Tried pushing him out with gloves but he just fell further down into the engine compartment and I couldn’t find him anymore. I read online that rodents can chew through electronics very easily, so I want to make sure that he is out and won’t come back again. I didn’t see any droppings or chewing so I’m guessing he just got here. Any advice?

All 4 power windows have been slow to roll up and down for the longest time. There has been smoke every few months but not this much. Smoke appeared when rolling all 4 power windows up at the same time. Is this an electrical issue?

Got back from a week long trip and find that the metal under the seats has rusted and there’s a whole (burned?) into the seat. I have three sons and they don’t know what happened apparently. Car was in front of our smart doorbell and no one got in, we think. I could get these bizarre occurrences alone but together? I don’t know what to make of it. We took apart the car looking for an exploded battery or something but came up with nothing. Doubt it would help but it’s a Hyundai Santa Fe 2022.

I brought my Car in April of 2023 and absolutely love it! The guy selling the car announced all the mods he had done including adding a carbon fibre hood.

Fast forward to now, my car has had this weird fading discolouration on the hood for about 5 months. I’ve tried washing it, hand polishing it myself as I don’t want to pay to get it professionally done until I know that it is in fact fixable. Polishing it with cut & polish & a lot of elbow grease helps it a little but doesn’t completely go away. I can rub one spot with my dry finger and the fade will go away. Can someone explain what this damage might be? Is it sun damage? Is the carbon fibre a cheap fake? Can this be fixed?

My virgin car eyes are telling me this is connecting the coolant to the engine. I try tightening it back on there but slides right off..

Yesterday my boss had me take his beautiful bmw to pick up dry cleaning and I begged him not to I was afraid to mess it up. I took the car and boom. Scratched it trying to make a turn. I am so upset about it and I’ve apologized so many times. He said it’s completely fine and that it’s just a car. My parents are telling me he’s going to the need the whole bumper replaced to fix it? Does anyone know how much this would cost around to fix this and if the bumper really does need taken off?

What should I do? They called after doing the engine recall, told me that the torque converter hit my tranny pump and damaged it. Which is the #1 worksmanship error when installing a new engine. I verified that it was from worksmanship and the advisor said "yes, but that's not going to be covered by the warranty on your Kia and you'll either have to use your extended warranty and deductible or pay 3000 for the replacement."

UPDATE: CALLED THIS MORNING AND SAID THAT THEY FINALLY GOT AHOLD OF THEIR MANAGER AND THAT THEY ORDERED THE TRANNY, THEN IMMEDIATELY HUNG UP.

Fully aware this was beyond a braindead moment. Idky I did it, I could say it was a terribly busy and draining day and I was just out of it but it doesn’t matter because what happened happened. I was going 70 and went to put my car on cruise control. Instead my hand went to my stick and put it in park. I heard a horrible grinding noise then immediately put it back in drive. I have a 2019 Toyota Corolla. I’m at a loss in what to do since I don’t have money to just throw at the vehicle, I don’t know any trusted mechanic, and I have zero family or friends to help in this situation. Everything sounds and feels fine with the car but I’m aware just because it sounds and feels fine doesn’t mean that it is. Previous Reddit posts regarding this on this sub had the car going like 10 miles an hour. I was going 70 so I felt like those posts wouldn’t help me. I have terrible anxiety and OCD so this is causing me to be physically sick, which is why idc what ridicule I’ll get as long as I can get some direction on what to do.

I’m replacing my car battery and running into an issue with the positive terminal clamp. I have removed the bolt that you could use to tighten it but it doesn’t open wide enough to fit over the battery post. I’ve tried gently prying it open with a flathead screwdriver, but it feels more like im bending the metal and I’m worried about damaging it or weakening the clamp.

Additionally I cant seem to unscrew the top bolt. Would loosening this help and if so how can I got about loosening it if it's stuck?

Is there a way to open the clamp wider without damaging it or are there any tools or tricks that could help in this situation?

Any advice or suggestions would be super helpful. As I know 0 about car mechanics.

Had a mold infestation in this rarely-used car professionally cleaned once. Left windows and doors open on the garage for weeks. Thought it was good to go so closed them. A few weeks later, mold has grown back on the leather (only).

I noticed this as I was about to drive it, thankfully. Can I drive this to a shop? Is it fixable? Would appreciate any insight.

Bought a second hand Audi for 7000$ three months ago. I did a pre purchase inspection (PPI) which told me all the things needed to fix in the car (lifter and a few other things, oil change). They offered an insurance on the engine for 1000$/3 months which I did not take. I went to another garage 'J&J' and they fixed everything mentioned in the PPI except for the lifter. The mechanic told me that the lifter was fine. Spent 1000$ at the garage to fix the other things. In all, spent 8000$ for the car three months ago. Today the car won't start. Got it towed to 'J&J' garage and the mechanic says the lifter is broken. Fixing it would cost another 8000$. What should I do ?

I'm considering buying a new engine and getting it assembled by a mechanic. Please help.

Long story short I had this car in high school my senior year it had a turbo problem and timing chains all needed to be repaired changed I spent $2.8k on car parts but my uncle who is a mechanic kept on telling me he would do it eventually and never did. it's around a year later and overtime I've tried to tell my dad about this issue and he never seemed to care and I don't know if it's too late to try to take matters in my own hands I was wondering if I can still fix this or how to get mold out. I know it's my car but I've been getting little to no help with my family since it messed up and I don't know if I can fix it.

Hello all, I have a 2011 Honda Civic. The car randomly shuts down when stopping at a stop light or slowing down or turning into a parking spot. Once the car shuts down, the steering wheel is locked and the following indicator lights come on. To restart it, I simply turn the keys to off ignition and turn it back on, then there is no problem. About a month ago, I had my brakes cleaned and adjusted, also got a brake flush done. This started happening afterwards, don’t know if they are related or just a coincidence. I took it back to that shop, they tried checking for codes but nothing showed up.

I noticed that there was a similar post to this in the subreddit. People gave a range of answers from oil pressure to alternator. Wondering if anyone can help narrow down my problem based on the indicator lights for my situation. Thanks in advance.
