Misc. ¤¤¤ Weekly /r/Buddhism General Discussion ¤¤¤ - December 24, 2024 - New to Buddhism? Read this first!
This thread is for general discussion, such as brief thoughts, notes, updates, comments, or questions that don't require a full post of their own. Posts here can include topics that are discouraged on this sub in the interest of maintaining focus, such as sharing meditative experiences, drug experiences related to insights, discussion on dietary choices for Buddhists, and others. Conversation will be much more loosely moderated than usual, and generally only frankly unacceptable posts will be removed.
If you are new to Buddhism, you may want to start with our [FAQs] and have a look at the other resources in the [wiki]. If you still have questions or want to hear from others, feel free to post here or make a new post.
You can also use this thread to dedicate the merit of our practice to others and to make specific aspirations or prayers for others' well-being.

Can karma kick someone’s butt in present life for something that this person did while young and now at much more experience seems to be overwhelmed? Cleansing of Karma? Is that a thing?

Does Longquan still exist as a buddhist association? I cant seem to access their website. Did it close down after their leader/founder got in trouble for his sexual misconduct? Just curious as it seemed to do so well before he got caught.
