Look who signed up! Joined Bluesky a month ago
It feels like I keep getting the same things in my feed, all the time. I talk embroidery once and then I drown in embroidery. I like a comic, and then it's only comics. And some times it's the same picture reposted or taken by many people that keeps coming back.
I'm very happy to switch from Twitter but I feel it's a bit unbalanced for now.
Any tips ? (@jiminou.bsky.social - I like dark humour, board/video games, men and politics, in this particular order)

Are you using the Discover feed here? I’ve never found that thing to be useful.
I’d suggest defaulting to Following to show posts in reverse chronological order, then subscribe to feeds tailored to your interests. I leave the option to have posts from feeds show up in my following timeline, gives a nice variety of posts that I specified I’d like to see rather than allowing some nebulous algorithm to choose for me.

Okay, thanks for the insight, I indeed use the Discover feed way more but I guess it makes sense

Following also feeds you stuff from people you are following (the stuff they like or repost)…I believe…don’t does cast a net slightly larger than just the posts of those you follow.

haha, thats how social media works. When I started instagram and didn't give them any info to work with they just gave me pics of Madonna, Michael Jackson and Nirvana.

Just hard to avoid the fact that it's growing communities. I had to revert back to coming here more. My Bluesky feed is pretty underwhelming

Yeah, totally different experience than this sub. Totally boring and underwhelming for me, but hey not everything is ment for everyone. Glad you guys like it

It was boring until i realized there's very tight communities there. For random scrolling and time killing it's not as entertaining. I joined the chronic illness community and it's very supportive, with so much less disinformation and negativity than Twitter.

I’d say search out some starter packs/lists and follow them, then lean into your Following feed more. Maybe after a while it’s even fill out the more algorithmic feeds for you a bit better if you still wanna use them.
