I think this guy has misinterpreted Marx's words: Marx was against prostitution because it exploits working women, not because the women were 'counter-revolutionary'. The capitalist system has made it so that people will resort to sex work just to get their next meal. If anyone should feel ashamed, it should be the ruling class, rather than sex workers.

No one starts an onlyfans to live a life of luxury. People on onlyfans are also struggling, it's their last ditch effort.

Like yeah, some people are enthusiastically joining onlyfans thinking they're gonna make bank because they're hot, and that might even be the experience of some of those people.

But it's not the average experience.

I'm glad you've found some way to hate these women, that's what's important.

Why is hating sex work always equated to hating sex workers??? 99% of sex workers globally are desperate for money, most likely trafficked and in abject poverty. I hate sex work BECAUSE it exploits them, I don't hate them because they "chose" to do it. Even the people in western society who "choose" to do sex work as their career are coerced into it in some shape or way (promise of fame, fortune, "being your own boss", etc.). It's an inherently exploitative industry that preys on the most vulnerable in our society.

You know the men in the OOP actually just hate the women themselves though, not the predatory industry.

I would think sex work is allowable, but the workers would have much more control over their service, with providing it being purely the worker’s choice.

Marx was against prostitution. The deleted user is pretty based.

I agree with being against sex work (not sex workers, the work itself) but that user also goes on to say that liberalism is “counter-evolutionary”, which is fucked.

From Wikipedia: "Liberals espouse various and often mutually warring views depending on their understanding of these principles but generally support private property, market economies, individual rights (including civil rights and human rights), liberal democracy, secularism, rule of law, economic and political freedom, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, and freedom of religion."

What about this reads as revolutionary in the Marxist sense to you?! Support for private property and market economics is antithetical to a true revolutionary spirit.
