Vampire bats have a single pup after a 7 month pregnancy, compared to a similarly sized house mouse, which has six pups after a 3 week pregnancy.

Bats are their own group, Chiroptera. At one point it was considered a sister group to rodents and primates, but genetic evidence suggests they are on a different branch of the mammal family tree closer to carnivores and even-toes ungulates.
