Verified A rare encounter with the Sumatran striped rabbit. These elusive lagomorphs are found only in the mountain forests of Sumatra, Indonesia.

That is a watermelon.

LMFAO the image wasn’t moving for me and all I saw was a small, fuzzy oblong watermelon with its color washed out by the bright light. I kept looking for the rabbit thinking the fuzzy-ness of the "watermelon" was just a side effect of the image being frozen in motion.

I also think it looks like a melon

Glad I'm not the only one who saw a watermelon 😂

“It’s just a wee rabbit!”

Look, that rabbit's got a vicious streak a mile wide! It's a killer!

Oh thank God. For a minute there I thought this was just a migraine medication hallucination.

Cool, can you leave it be and stop trying to touch it?

To be honest it’s quite unusual behaviour for them to be so curious given that they’re prey animals.

This place is likely frequently visited by people who feed the rabbits

Very interesting. Not very much of a rare encounter in that case.

We need to round up enough of those to start a captive breeding program because they are some good natured little critters and should have their habitat duplicated so they can make everybody have a cute attack they would have minimal parameters. It’s just gonna be Cover predation and all their food sources. I bet they have a fascinating life cycle

Personally I'm more for leaving animals alone

Stop destroying their environment, then

Why are you singling me out? You don't know enough about me to know I'm not trying to help animals. I volunteer at a charity that rescues wild animals'

But they’re rabbits. Don’t they mate…like rabbits? Or no?

I don't think people understand how rare this is. This rabbit has only been observed 8 other times since 2000.

If I had one of these, I would name it melon butt
