REQUEST ANY $ helps- rent assistance

Hi all. I hate to have to ask for help here. I have requested help from all local assistance groups and government resources in my area, but am continuing to get denied.

Amount Requested: $740, which would only cover January rent so I don't get evicted. No, I am not expecting strangers to send me hundreds of dollars. I am just trying to be transparent.

My story: I am 23yo, recently divorced, and struggling a lot with my finances. I live in a 2bd apartment with my roommate and we split rent each month ($370 per person). I have 2 cats that are my whole entire universe and my roommate has a 4 month old puppy. My roommate is having some health concerns, making them unable to work at the moment. This came out of nowhere; unfortunately it happened at the same time that I lost my student loans from school. These loans have helped me to 'comfortably' pay my rent for the past 4 years. For the first time in my life, I am about to get evicted. As I'm sure you can imagine, my anxiety is through the roof. Because of the circumstances, all of the finances are falling onto me. I am paying for twice my portion of rent, utilities, and food costs. I am paying for all 3 pets and caring for them full-time. I am urgently seeking a job that I am able to do as a disabled person. I am killing myself donating plasma twice a week and spending all day every day applying, looking, and interviewing for jobs.

Every penny you send is appreciated! Each donation will bring me closer to getting back on my feet. Thank you for even just taking the time out of your day to read this. I truly appreciate each and every one of you!

As per sub rules, message me for my payment tags! And let me know what your preference is. I have a couple apps and am willing to create more accounts. Thanks!

You’ll need a GoFundMe or something for that huge amount. You might get some small donations but you’ll want to ask absolutely everyone you know for help as this subreddit won’t be able to fund such an amount.

Yes; As my post states, I'm not looking to receive the full donation, or anywhere close, from Reddit strangers. I was just giving perspective into my situation. I wouldn't be here if I hadn't asked every single person I could possibly think of. There's nothing more humiliating than having to come crawling back to family for help. So yes, I have followed all of the "common sense" rules of asking for money.

People rarely give cash here for a whole variety of reasons. Gofundme campaigns protect givers against scams and fraud in ways payment apps don’t. If you make one, you can share it here, other places on Reddit and the internet, and with people in your circle for greatest success.

Yes- a GoFundMe is a great idea. I appreciate all who suggested it. I will work on creating that.

You are not expecting strangers to send you hundreds of dollars - but you are asking strangers to help you avoid eviction, which will require hundreds of dollars....
