Misc What are the most well lit cities in Europe?
What are the most well lit and bright countries and cities in Europe?
In terms of infrastructure, street lighting, no need to complicate things.

Well-light sounds like a value judgement, but I can tell you that I find Nicosia (the southern part of the city, at least) to be extremely brightly lit.
Personally, that makes me uncomfortable since it strains the eyes and makes the streets feel cold and unwelcoming.

Well-lit streets makes them feel cold to you and not the opposite? Genuinely curious if you would explain

Lights around 2000–3000 kelvin produce a warm orange glow; dim but cozy.
Lights around 5000–7000 kelvin produce a harsh white glow; similar to daylight and good for work spaces.
Lights around 9000 kelvin produce a cold blue glow, strong and good for cars and street lights.

How do you measure well lit exactly? Like probably most European cities are well lit. There are several areas in Europe which having light polution (https://www.reddit.com/r/MapPorn/s/NvVIZSLeBq). So those areas have lots of lights.
There also various cities nicknames city of light. Paris is obviously the most famous one. Although I read the Origins of this nicknames come from the enlightenment.

The origin of the nickname for Paris also comes from the gas lamps which were the first in Europe. I am asking about personal opinions, not necessarily measurable tables.

I think most well known cities are well lit. You see lots of cities which have invested in nice lightning of highlights. Here in The Netherlands you see more and more cities having light festivals where light and video artists perform using the cities as their canvas.

Probably those with the highest population density.

There is of course a difference between cities with similar populations, it has more to do with infrastructure decisions than lights from buildings.

Probably Naaldwijk in South-Holland the Netherlands, but not all days of the year. The entire town and surrounding towns are completely surrounded with greenhouses and many of them use lights in the evening for growing veggies or plants.

Just coming here to talk about the least well-lit city and that's got to be Chisinau. I don't think I've ever stayed in the centre of a major city that's so dark at night.

According to something I read on the internet ages ago the Netherlands is the most light poluted country in the world, but if that's true I assume much of that also has to do because of the thousands of greenhouses.
edit, you could look at maps/photos taken from space at night.

You mean in terms of electrification, light pollution, average distance between lights or what else?
