Got an axe to grind? Grind it here!

Heyo all! Here's a thread whose sole purpose is to give those who have a grievance against the Sinclair Method a place to air it all out. I and several others have noticed an influx of comments detracting from the Sinclair Method, and or touting the (statistically speaking) miserably ineffective recovery/abstinence modality. In an effort to give those would would discuss in good faith a chance to do so, I'm making this post every Friday. Please take this opportunity to engage with people for whom the Sinclair Method has literally be life saving.

Having said that, I will take this opportunity to say I'm gonna start straight up deleting comments that say anything like "IWNDWYT" or something to that effect. For those repeat offenders who never take the opportunity to post here, I'm just gonna have to hand you a ban. There are very few places on the internet where the Sinclair Method can be discussed safely, and that's something worth protecting. Until I figure out a better way to mitigate the bad faith folks who come here to detract from the life-saving Sinclair Method, this is just how it has to be.

So with that unpleasantness out of the way, feel free to leave your grievances in the comments! I will drink with you today if I'm properly protected!

How long have you been using naltrexone/TSM ? Be patient. Alcohol can totally change your gut biome, from healthy bacteria that extracts nutrition from whole foods to different bacteria that can deal with alcohol. Your gut may be seriously out of balance. You could also be lacking essential vitamins and minerals. https://www.bouldermedicalcenter.com/nutrition-recommendations-consume-alcohol/

Thank you! I always appreciate the prompt responses here. So supportive.

I used to have serious gut biome issues. 4 years ago a home FMT solved that. I may see about another donor & update that. (Anyone with "IBS" should seriously research FMTs. It is the true gold standard.)

In my case, I can't have Nalt as unmedicated ADHD. Nalt + ADHD = Depression. Too bad. It works really well.

I can't treat ADHD due to AUD / CPTSD. AUD is "just" a symptom (for me) of CPTSD. Feeling safe.

This time I'm tackling my CPTSD/dysregulated nervous system. Using a type of EMDR. A lotta progress in a month. Yesterday, I had 0 compulsions & minor cravings all day. Brain simply worked differently. Let's see where it goes.

I used theanine last night (GABA). I might have 5-htp (serotonin) tonight too :)

I've got a great life, with challenges that will all be overcome in early 2025. Even being a positive guy, it's nice to vent. Thanks.

Thanks. It's nice to see multiple, realistic paths to success. The more CPTSD/SNS reduces, the more options are available  1) ADHD meds + Nalt 2) Ozempic 3) Yoga (as have the energy/drive) 4) Possibly "naturally".

Ironically, the past week has been the most booze ever. But no DTs etc yesterday. Just insomnia.

I appreciate the chat.
