Local: "Serra Pelada" (Naked Hill). Very famous in childhood.

Username checks out! 🤣 Thanks for the info.

For others interested in learning a bit more, here’s the Wikipedia article. It’s frustratingly spare, though.

Did the mine dispute end amicably?

It was a war. A literally war. Thousands of deaths.

Yes the owner gave the workers their fair share, declared world peace, and took everyone out for ice cream.

Wow, every one of the people are standing in a way which could be a reference for artists to draw. This is a really good picture.

Miner: "Look around. Shooting me doesn't make you safer.".

Reminds me of the coal miners in Chernobyl "You'll run out of bullets and there will still be enough of us left to beat the living piss out of you."

You mean the guy holding an arm that’s holding a bag of rocks?

Based on the miners quads, this doesn’t end well for the soldier.

Are we just going to ignore the guy holding a dismembered arm that is then holding a bag?

5

u/DismalAd3048 1d ago

Someone else cut the arm off, he was left holding the bag

1

u/The_Haunt 1d ago

Lmao, thanks for that one.

u/Yeti_Rider 1d ago

That's his right arm ya plonker 😄

He's standing on a really angled bit of a hill and above the camera, so it looks like that spare arm's elbow is in line with his hip.

Ok hear me out, I looked again and it obviously is an enormous weenier with a hand for the tip.
