of a mosquito caught alive in Southern Thailand

They’re about two times bigger than what you get in Bangkok.

Lived in Alaska for 6 years, can confirm our state bird was a mosquito the size of your hand

Bruh I have mosquitos here that have to register with the goddamn FAA.

This is an embarrassment of a submission

I've seen bigger feasting on me in Africa and SE Asia. Speaking of SE Asia (Thailand), I checked into my hotel last time, walked out onto the balcony and had a Asian Giant Hornet welcoming committee. I didn't open that fucking veranda door again in the weeks that followed. I genuinely thought they were humming birds initially, then I shit myself shortly after when I realised that aint no birds.

Doesn’t look like a big one anywhere I’ve been in Mozzy season, which covers about 4 continents and 20+ countries…

HAHAHAHAHA that's a bitch of a mosquito. Come to Florida where that's on the small side. We have some striped mosquitos that would shock and amaze

1

u/radraze2kx 7h ago

In Texas, they have the striped ones and the small brown ones. You can feel the striped ones land, which is convenient, but the brown ones bite over and over without you even realizing they're there. Fuck all mosquitos.

In Minnesota they’ve got mosquitoes that could take off with a small dog if they had a mind to

1

u/Dmau27 1d ago

Come to the Midwest. You have trouble differentiating them from night wasps.

u/DaArio_007 1d ago

Do you live under a rock?

1

u/kenjinyc 21h ago

Can’t say I didn’t see any huge ones when I was in Thailand but at dusk, you see a dark cloud coming toward you, get out of dodge. I literally ran from an open air lobby to my room. Millions.

Being in Alaska I was confused what this video was about, thinking why are they impressed they caught a mosquito? Then I saw what sub I'm in. 😭

24

u/mando_jango_mango 1d ago

How could you tell its sex?

PS: It bit me before I caught it…soooo it’s not a male

3

u/Looking4Goals 1d ago

Bite back. Only fair.

u/Holiday-Scarcity4726 1d ago

the size. Females are very small. The larger mosquitos are always males. They dont drink blood they get nectar from plants. That is most likely a small male
