Joy stick came off
Is this common?? Is it an easy fix?

I think problem is in finding same kind of rubber stick. Plastic ones can be found easily but they are quite slipperish

Real question. If the rubber part just came off would a very small amount of super glue be my best friend here?

Just replace it.

Where would I get a good replacement part? All the replacement sticks on Amazon (and other sites I’ve noticed) are hard plastic without the rubber. Is there a replacement with rubber out there? Or just the rubber itself?

Well, it isn’t ripped off. Nothing is broken except the adhesive that was on before hand just gave up so is there really any reason to?

You could use super glue but it'll make the rubber super brittle in a few months. Just replacing the whole plastic disc it better in the long run

I did exactly that with mine and it works like a charm. 1 drop of super glue, apply pressure for like a minute and you're good to go buddy.

If you plan on using glue to fix, be very careful, some types of glue like super glue can cause issues, I recommend hot glue

I bought a metal one, with a gamecube style grip when mine broke. :) easy fix.

I've been looking to replace mine but those found on ali express / Ebay seem to have a plastic circle pad rather than a rubber top. If anyone can recommend where to get something close to the original part with a rubber circle pad.. would be appreciated

I’m looking for the same information. Everyone is saying “just replace it” but the replacement parts I’ve found don’t seem good enough

Mine too, then I spread the fear by those who rub it too much.

Its an easy fix as long as you don't break the ribbons when putting it back together. A video tutorial is recommended.

That’s a fairly easy fix. Doesn’t take much. You can order parts on eBay for really cheap.

I knew quite a few people in middle school who had this happen, also seen quite a few listings on eBay like this. It’s always the old 3DS XL, I’ve never seen it on any of the other models. Relatively simple repair compared to other issues like the hinge or screen breaking.

Should be an easy fix. I ordered replacement caps from Temu for about $5 each

Mine just did this and all it looked like was that the glue got old. I just put the tiniest amount of super glue on the inner circle part and let it sit for a day and a half and it’s like it never fell off. Just make sure you don’t get any in the innards.

I've seen metal joysticks for sale. Why not try one of those!
Also there's tutorials to replace the joystick on YouTube.

Same thing happened to me, I just super glued mine back on. (Assuming its just the rubber grip part)

Get 2 or 3 from aliexpress as backups and look up disassembly tutorials on youtube

glue

That could gum up the movement at best and prevent it from moving entirely at worst. $5 replacement from china and 10 minutes of your time is the way

Super glue it

Lmao that's what I did to mine after breaking it from seriously fighting my first Deviljho in MH4U.

don't worry, it is an easy fix
