It would be pretty stupid to throw away a chance at having a morally unconscious version of Vegapunk that’s wholeheartedly willing to do the dirty work that Stella was against (just for the small price of noble stature)

Claiomh is likely a reference to an irish folktale of a hero who embarked on a journey to find "The One Story", really love that for the guy who headed the Oharan scholars.

Emeth's little talk with Luffy was incredibly sweet, is this also the first time that Luffy has been explicitly told to his face that he's Joy Boy?

Atlas was a Titan who was punished with carrying the heavens by Zeus (sometimes tasked with it).

Clover is an Atlas, where he takes up the burden of discovering the truth of the void century, where the reason he’s alive is due to a lie

Robin also took up the burden, wanting to honor her mother and scholars who died that day

Vegapunk did not want to take up that burden, because he knew it would cost him his life beforehand. But after Clover died, he was the self proclaimed fool who was curious enough to take up that burden.

Vegapunk (Atlas) takes up the burden of allowing the SH to escape by sacrificing herself. She shows the change in Vegapunk.

Before what was a burden is now considered a service.

Emet is also paralleled with Atlas.

Both lose their arms trying to fend off a threat for their friends.

When Prometheus stole Flame from the Olympians and give it to man he was chained to a rock to have his intestines eaten by buzzards and regenerated daily as punishment for the crime.

I'm damn certain the final panel we see of York this arc is going to be them chained to a rock under WG supervision to mirror the punishment for her crime of stealing Flame from man and giving it to gods. Not that this would be the reason the WG is chaining her up, but this arc has been loaded with Greek mythology so I'm really excited to see that one come full circle.

this line by vegapunk really makes me think that whatever's on laughtale is or is similar to kuma's memory bubble. what else is the purest form of knowledge that lets you know the truth instantly, if not actually experiencing those memories? even if it's one-sided, the knowledge should at least be partially true. with writings, propagandas, stories, you can only learn the perspectives without even knowing whether they're true or utter lies.

My future chapter predictions: -Vegapunk will add one last lore bomb to end the message and I think it'll be the craziest one yet. Also, I'm convinced Kuma will Fold Saturn again.

Couple of interesting points among all of it.

• When the robot said "I came just like before", is it possible it's referring to climbing the Red Line? There is a giant straw hat up in Marijoa, perhaps a previous Joy Boy was fighting and was killed there 200 years ago or however long it was?

• Interesting that Vega Punk said that the Roger Pirates probably heard the voice "from the purest source". Could that mean that Laugh Tale has at least one inhabitant that lived through the Void Centuary? Or perhaps there's a recording of history from 900 years ago? If I recall those shells from Skypiea could store music, so it's possible they have some sort of recordings of history that they took and hid there. Gotta wonder exactly what is on Laugh Tale, is it just the One Piece or are there many other things there as well?

Geez Lillith being the only survivor will hit so much after she finds out. Especially when we know she's the most emotional satellite despite her being the evil one. I remember her crying when she thought Edison was dying.

I laughed out loud at Emet trying to do this grand reunion with Joyboy, only for Luffy to still be oblivious. Its a little touch but I think it humanizes Emet so much. Really makes it feel like Emet is familiar with Joyboy's general antics.

I had a few thoughts after reading this chapter:

• The One Piece is a audio/video recording in one piece, unlike the Poneglyphs which are scattered and each only tell a small portion of the story in written text. Could also be memories, hence "the purest source"?
• The recording/memory is from the time of Joyboy, told by Joyboy and his associates
• In the recording, Joyboy says something that hints at an event ~800 years into the future, possibly the birth of Shirahoshi, but could also be related to the gomu gomu fruit / Nika.
• Maybe Joyboy speaks of losing the war because they needed the mermaid princess due to the world flooding over and sea kings could turn the tide. He might also mention that this war would be decided ~820 years into the future because then another Mermaid Princess would be born & come of age. Roger hears this, connects the dots, laughs his ass off because he's 20+ years too early for whatever Joyboy said in the recording
• Still think Toki plays a role in this all just because she was born 800+ years ago and fled into the future because of danger. I really do hope Oda tells us more about why she arrived to Wano from the past. She also had to have known something which led to her choosing to send the rest 20 years into the future, right around the time Luffy would arrive to help bring Kaido down.
• edit: just thought of something else. Maybe Joyboy calls this a prophecy, foretold by a mermaid at the time that could also tell the future? Shyarly also predicted the exact day Shirahoshi was born.

Sad to see Atlas die, she was my favorite of the Punks, but she went out like a boss. And the Robot is going to self destruct? And very interesting that Luffy in Gear 5 couldn't scratch the Elders, but the Robot had no issues breaking one of the tusks of the Boar.

I don't know if Lilith will become a full fledged member? But, she'll at least be the next Kin and Momo.

So it looks like the name "Claiomh" is pronounced "cleeve" or "claive" is Irish/Gaelic for "sword" and the Claiomh Solais ("Sword of Light") is a weapon that appears in some Irish myths. Seeing the Irish name made me slap my head because, yeah, his hair looks like a shamrock! As usual, Oda was waving it right in our faces.

If you're keeping score, you can now check off "Irish/Gaelic" under the Big List of World Mythologies Oda has tapped for One Piece. I've been wondering for a few years if we'd see any Irish refs because some of Luffy's gear transformations remind me of the Irish hero CuChulain's Warp Spasm.
